Dose it come with the key?

Our STI-6400 comes with 2 KIT-H19032 alarm keys (2341) and 2 KIT-H19016 service screw key

How do you shut off the short loud signal every minute or two that is obnoxious and assume is meant to indicate battery working?

That could indicate you have a low battery. Shut-off the unit and then replace the internal 9V battery. Then you can turn the unit back on and the indicator should go away. If the door is opened in an emergency do the wires break away and if so can they be placed back?

The STI-6402 goes into alarm after given it's NC simulation. With the STI-6402 there will be (1) reed on board wired into the RS1 for the second door you will attach the additional reed in the hardware pack into the RS2. Each door will need to have the extra magnet along side each reed (wired magnet) and when they separate it goes into alarm. Good inexpensive alarm

I put this alarm product on an outbuilding as a door alarm, using the alarm extension as a door trigger and mounting the box next to the door. The basic electronic design allows for a number of configurations and you can use it to trip outboard visual alarms with the onboard NO/NC relay contacts. Over and above using it for alarming a secured exit door it is versatile enough to create a multi sensor basic alarm system. If you had the motivation, you could use it for a two zone home alarm system. Works as an entry alarm as well as an exit alarm.
