Amazing quality for the pages. I would happily buy again. I used a variety of fountain pens and inks to write on it. Very little bleed through. I am genuinely impressed. The pages are great and finding a notebook in A4 is rather hard most come in A5 or B5. Like Midori or Kokuyo. And for the price its hardly a comparison.

I bought this notebook to graph using sharpie fine tip pens for ink clarity and sharp color. My one concern was that the sharpie might leak through the paper, but this paper is both really smooth and very thick. I think some people had issues with permeability- I think that might be due to a wetter ink. I don't know how gel pens hold up. In my experience, the ink doesn't smear even though the paper is so smooth it feels like drawing on plastic. Lives up to the product description. Recommended use with fine tip pens, ink-flow pens- any pen or pencil that can glide over the soft paper and not press in.

Okay... I purchased a pocket-sized Apica notebook for a couple of bucks a few months ago. It isn't fountain pen friendly, but I saw they had a 'premium' notebook they. A few reviews I watched said it was 'more' FP friendly. I can say affirm it is more, but only slightly. It's a thicker, more smooth/coated paper, but it still feathers and has bleed-through with broad nibs and well-behaved inks. Due to the thickness and coating on the paper, if you use an extra-fine or fine nib it will be perfect, no bleed-through, feathering, or ghosting.

Great quality notebook at the perfect size for my note taking needs. Using Pentel Tradio Pens with no bleed through on the next pages!

The paper is delightful. Learned about this book from Wirecutter. Using it for my daily journal. Now filling up my third book. Confirmed user.

This notebook is exquisitely made and the paper feels very smooth and of premium quality :-) I tried writing on the paper with a pen and it flows very smoothly as does regular wood pencils. I usually prefer writing with a pencil of type H or 2H, and it writes very well also, plus you can definitely tell the hardness of the pencils apart. Unlike some other types of paper, which you may be unable to tell the difference between the HB and H, the Apica Notebook is if superb quality, if you are the type of person who has a touch for quality, and loves to write, than a few extra bucks makes this a very nice investment :-)

Absolutely amazing quality paper! Feels substantially heavy for a notebook, and the paper texture is very smooth. Every page you write on lays flat, so binding throughout the notebook is excellent. Cover is beautiful as well, has a nice textured surface (makes you feel extra fancy). All in all nothing I can complain about this notebook. Would highly recommend!!

To be clear, for anyone else wondering, this notebook has 96 sheets of paper (192 pages)

First, the item arrived in perfect condition. Second, Apica notebooks may be more expensive than some other brands, however the paper quality is fantastic. Very smooth and comfortable, the ink from my fountain pen produces sharp regular line every time. The binding is of quality and I never lost any pages from the note book. The one I ordered was a A4 format, but I do own a Japan B5 notebook, which is slightly different than the European B5. The B5 is my favorite format, but the A4 comes handy when doing long calculation.

I have always used Clairefontaine and Rhodia. I tried CD for a change and noticed it bleeds a bit.

Of all the papers I've tried, this one is by far the best quality. Definitely recommended.
