Can i use python to build applications for this calculator?

I'm pretty sure you cannot write an app. The documentation seems to indicate you can write microPython programs as a learning exercise but only as stand alone programs that don't have access to the calculator functionality. The only output seems to be printing. Dissapointing.

What python packages are installed? Can other/additional packages be installed?

The web site lists all of the packages in the microPython library built into the calculator.

Does this calculator simplify radicals?

Yes this calculator does simplify radicals. I own many calculators. This calculator is one that I really want to like. Unfortunately it does not do much when you compare it to the Texas instruments TI inspire cas II.
