I have a repeater that is in a hot environment (the temps here in northern California can exceed 110 degrees) and I wanted 12V muffin fans in the cabinet to come on at 85 and shut off when the temp cooled to 80. I have another repeater and a couple of ham radios that I also wanted to have auto fans on. These fan controllers are perfect! The work exactly as they should and are very reliable. Observations of thermometers by the radios show that the units are calibrated correctly. The sensors are small and fit into tight quarters like heat sinks. I am really happy with these controllers and think they will last for a long time.

I bought the 12V model. I guess I will start with the wire size of the unit. the wire size on the wire itself says 22AWG. from my research it fall into the 22AWG 7-24 core class of wire that is only rated to handle 2.1A, the add says its rated for 10A. I had it conected to a 6A load and the wires got quite warm and fast. The second thing I didnt like about it is: The outputs, the yellow wire is conected to the red (+) wire through the relay switch. I was expecting the output wires to be across the relay switch so it could be hooked up in whatever format the user needed. Both black (-) wires are soldered to the same trace inside, ie. its the same connection (ground) but two of them. Last, I would like an option to switch between F and C.

We travel a lot and have to carry certain emergency medications with us that have to be kept within a certain temperature range. Bought a thermo electric cooler that runs from vehicle battery but it ran constantly and would get below the safe storage temperature if the vehicle was cool inside. I just cut the power cord and put this controller inline with the cooler. Hold the temperature very well and saves the vehicle battery from needless discharge.

These cannot handle the rated current of 10A at 12V. Not even close. I ran mine at 6A with a 10A fuse and the traces on the circuit board literally burned up.
