An old school camera NOT a printer! YOU WILL NEED PATIENCE & Practice
I think the name ”Kiipix Photo PRINTER" may not be the best to describe the product.. maybe "Kiipix Photo CAMERA" would be more accurate, since this is just a retro camera after all. YOU WILL NEED PATIENCE.. and a little bit of handiness when using KiiPix Photo, exactly because.. this is not like any other automatic instant camera now in commerce! This is a great product when you know how to use it or at least want to try it out.. at a very reasonable price also, to be honest. But the Kiipix Photo is MANUAL indeed, a little bit old school, so It's great for people who actually enjoy Polaroids, are photography aficionados and/or simply enjoy the process of trying out different picture effects and settings without getting frustrated by it. If this doesn't sound like you, then this is not for you my friend (- you may also skip my whole review!). You can expect the resolution of your Kiipix Photo prints to be ALMOST that of the originally captured in your device but just because what gets captured with the Kiipix Photo is a PREVIEW and not the full-sized HD/ULTRA 4K ETC image. Also, you can expect the colors to get darker from what they looked originally because..it's an OLD SCHOOL camera after all (- again..not really a printer!) which implies that the color/saturation/brightness of your printed Kiipix pics are directly impacted by the lightness of the room in which you use the Kiipix Photo camera (and if/how you covered the sides of the Kiipix Photo when using + how much you waited before revealing the films); your prints will also be influenced by the color/hue or "filter” of the Fuji film used to print the pictures, and by your picture's settings in terms of colors/brightness/saturation/contrast, etc when using with Kiipix Photo. What I mean is: for different results, you need to manually make them happen. You can influence and change the result colors of your printed pictures by changing saturation/hue/contrast and lights of your ORIGINAL PICTURES when they are in your original device BEFORE PRINTING. For example, I noticed I had more colorful and "real normal light-clear" results with pictures with: 1) Crazy full-on saturation (especially on pictures with bland colors), little shadows (especially on faces), and fewer shadows/saturation/contrast on hair (if brown/black already) which become very dark losing its original color because of the saturation. 2) After pressing "Shutter", I make sure to COVER both lateral sides of the Kiipix printer AND LEAVE my phone there for at least 2 MINUTES BEFORE developing the picture.

Great little gadget
This is such an awesome gadget! Yes, it doesn't compare to the SP2 or SP3 Instax printers (on a convenience point of view) but its a fraction of the cost! Its very well packaged, the instructions are clear and very straight forward. The Instax Mini cartridges fit perfectly. The print quality is just as hit and miss as the instant cameras or instant printers so, for the price, I'm happier with this. I see some reviewers commented on all the photos coming out blank... the only way that would happen is if you open the device and removed the photo cartridge and then placed it back into the device later down the line. This would expose all the prints to direct light and cause them all to bleach out. Follow the instructions and you'll get great nostalgic prints! Don't try printing in direct sunlight, or under heavy indoor lighting... this will over expose and ruin your photos. It didn't cross my mind to start, but I bought the Mono Chrome photos... this is pointless when you can change photos to mono on you phone ~ obviously! ...gave the Mono photo pack to a friend with an Instax Mini camera. I did have a jam while trying to print a photo... I had no choice but to open the device. Went into a dimly lit room, popped out the cartridge, replaced the cartridge, and wound the mechanism until the jammed photo popped out (super easy). It only over exposed that one photo, bleaching it white. The rest of the photos in the cartridge printed perfectly! No batteries needed, no Wi-Fi! Massively impressed with this little printer!

Solved the 'black photos' dilemma!
Took a gamble buying this product given the complete mixed bag of reviews and so many comments saying it didn't work as all photos were printing black. After (a lot of) trouble shooting - realised it was because the majority of the time, the shutter wasn't actually opening and closing properly after clicking down, hence the photos were black. When I turned it upside down and placed my phone screen instead on the table and this little gadget upside down on top and clicked - I heard a completely different sound - the shutter actually opening and closing and the photos started printing properly after that. Given it a 4/5 because the photos aren't of the clearest resolution but, can't really expect high-res for the price!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!
I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone because although it’s super easy to put together and take the photo, the photo doesn’t come through on the Polaroid and all you see is a blank picture! I tried it my first time and it came through but on one corner and the rest of the picture was just black! I’m not happy, waste of money and I shall invest in an actual Polaroid camera! Not impressed! Extremely disappointing!😤🤬😡

Tips for better quality and what retailers not to buy paper from.
To get the results you need there’s a bit of trial and error here’s my tips I picked up that aren’t commonly said. You absolutely need more then a normal light for example I have a huge, white bright smart bulb and it wasn’t enough I used two lamps right next to it and the big light. Some pictures will be upside down if you don’t line the person on the white frame up to the picture this sounds simple but when you have off debriefed pictures just make sure you’ve got it right. The edges will always be a little dark as that’s where the white frame overs the camera my top for this would be a little photo editing, like zooming out of the picture giving it a thick black frame that will be cut off by the white template when it’s applied. This makes sure your hole picture is in the photo. DO NOT BUY THE PAPER FROM AMAZON!! Can’t stress this enough they come Brocken every time. Instead you can buy them from Argos click and collect or even delivery for the same exact price and get them even faster then prime if you collect.

Awesome product. It does not need batteries or data connectivity to work. Some tips, make sure that the indoor light is not too bright. After printing, turn the photo with the black part facing up for one minute. This will allow the photos to develop properly in darkness without being over exposed by indoor light. You need turn the nob quickly after taking the photo to avoid having white lines on the photos. Buy instax photos that comes in a box. Those that are loosely packed by some resellers not Fujifilm may be prone to jams. Just do these and the photos will be awesome.

Gave this to my 17 yr old for Christmas and she loves it. She has a Polaroid as well (uses the same printer paper which is nice), but she loves that she can also print Polaroid type pics from her phone. She likes that she doesn't have to take her Polaroid with her everywhere. She can take her pics and then just come home and print. She says it's very easy to use, but does take a little trial and error to ensure the picture prints light enough. Once figured out, she says it's perfect. The only downside is that the film is a little pricey in my opinion. It's a great gift.

Best product ever! It’s a great idea to be able to choose before you print. You get much better quality than a regular Polaroid camera. Love this one, and I would recommend it to everyone I know.
