What's the difference between coil tap and standard? Please explain.

Danny M described what a coil tap is, but the difference between "coil tap" and "standard" goes beyond that here on Amazon. The "Coil tap" model is a 112V and the "standard" model is a 112J. They are both similar guitars, but the 112V has several small upgrades: Alnico V magnet based pickups instead of ceramic magnets, the tremolo is slightly upgraded with block saddles, and the tone knob can be pulled to coil tap the humbucker into a single coil. Also, the pickguard on the 112v is smaller, exposing more wood, but this is really more a style thing..

I am a beginner trying to look for my first guitar. What is the difference between Coil tap style and Standard style in this product?

With coil tapping it gives you more total sound options.You simply have to pull up on one of the knobs.Its a nice feature.

Is the tone nob supposed to feel much looser than the volume nob? I just got my Pacifica and this is the case.

Do you have the 112v or the 120h? I bought the 120h and my tone nob is the same as yours. It feels much looser than the volume knob. Doesn't feel right.

Does the violn sunburst look the same on the back?

Yes, it looks the same. Also, there are 2 white caps on the back for electronics just like every guitar.
