ELECTROL Solid Element Cleaner,WB64X81

If you are lucky enough to have electric solid elements on your cook top, this product is the one that works to keep them like new. My elements came with the house, they were rusted and corroded from lack of care. I tried just about everything until a friend said she had used a product that was wonderful. Together we searched the internet until this picture came up and she recognized it. I ordered it, followed the directions and now the cook top elements look like new. The rust is gone. Don't let the smoke from heating the element throw you...just turn on the exhaust fan and keep following the directions. With each application they look newer and newer...you won't be disappointed.

if you still have an unusual-for-USA- cooktop with solid cast iron burner hobs, this stuff is a nice (and only marketed) surface protectant/polish to maintain your units. it is not a cleaner per se. I scrape off any accumulated debris with a putty knife, then perhaps run a green scrubber pad over the surface before applying this stuff like you would apply polish on a shoe. turn up the heat and the dressing bonds to the surface with release of some non noxious smoke. my range has a downdraft blower that exhausts this. run your exhaust hood/filter blower if you have a conventional range. once heated on/dried, the burner hobs are now uniform in color and the polish will not rub onto your cookware.

works great and makes it look like new again. wish it was a little less in cost or more of the product.

This came with my solid hob cook top years ago & it has always done a great job keeping my burners in good condition & looking like new. I use a Scotch yellow/green scrub pad to scrub of burnt on globs, wipe/rinse off with a damp paper towel, then coat the burners using the applicator. Turn on the heat & it burns off residue & bakes on a protective layer that lasts a long time. Run your exhaust fan for a few minutes while the product burns on & you're done. Easy! Product lasts a long time, both the applicator and the protection it affords.

Good product but needs a sponge attached instead of rag. Very messy

I knew about this stuff from having lived in Europe and watching my mom make the black solid elements come back to life every so often. It does as it states - when your element gets old grease marks or patches of rusty brown showing through, a dab of this followed by a quick burn off will knock years off the stoves appearance. I imagine it would be godsend for someone getting a home ready for sale. Easy to use but you won't get a large containers worth - but then again you don't actually need to use it too often either.
