It works for me I can't tell you why. But for what I use it for it does the job. I used to brake out when stressed with red patches in the T zone area I believe it's rosaceaor. Or if I didn't shave for a week or so and the hair would curl back into my skin. So I would exfoliate my skin real good.and after that I applied EmuaidMax. As you see it works for me
