Im an architect so I appreciate good design, I’m not an expert on coffee tasting, if there really is such a thing, but I know what I like. This coffee maker has high reviews and a high price tag. Do I think it’s worth it, maybe. It heats the water above 180 degrees F and does it quietly and does it in a reasonable amount of time. Love those things. The coffee tastes great when you find the coffee brand you like. The reason for the 4 stars is simply that it seems a bit tedious the way things are made. The carafe lid is obnoxious and if you pour too quickly it will overflow the spout edges. I can live with that. The water spout (where hot water drizzles on grinds) is removable but essentially fixed, meaning it doesn’t seem to be something that should be rotated or removed each time you brew coffee, so it is in the way of the coffee filter and grind install…I can live with it. The lids that covers water tank and grinds are just simple plastic covers but no handles to grasp when removing and both need removed each brew….I can live with that too. To me the function is great, the very simple design is great but the design has missed opportunities to simplify daily use. I am happy with purchase because I know it’s brewing coffee optimally, its form follows function meaning i like the way it looks on my counter top and I will deal with the minor complaints and use it until it no longer works.

The good? The base and body are rock solid metal. Water heats fast and basic build quality on the machine itself is excellent. The appearance is unique and will play well in some decors. It is not hard to operate, but you do need to figure out the process, as it is different than anything else you have had. It has a 5 yr warranty which is excellent. The appearance can be considered good, especially with the color selections. It has a Euro flair if that is your thing, but the power cord attaches from the left side, not the back, so it is always visible. This is really silly. The bad??? WAY too much for this price point. The primary issue is that the water doesn't cover the grounds. I have watched it a dozen times now and it just doesn't do it. I generally make half pots and use that setting. The water should pour slower and cover the grounds longer. WIth this, it does drip slower, it just doesn't reach the outer 1/3 of the basket. It cycles between a single drip from the first hole to all, but never really gets everything. To compensate, you need to use a lot more grounds and try to keep them on the left side. It is absurd. In terms of temperature, it is average at best and the heating element for the carafe is pretty low. It is disappointing, really. People complain about the plastic but what do you expect the lids to be made from? The plastic lids are fine, you just aren't used to removing them all the time as opposing to lifting. Admittedly, it is an awkward process. The water capacity is tiny and yes, the carafe is cheap and flimsy. It feels like a toy. Bottom line? I really can't recommend it, not even for the $209 I paid on Black Friday. The $350 they normally charge is beyond outrageous. I can't place a value of even $100 on this unit. I was trying to replace my Cuisinart just to have something more aesthetically appealing in the new butler pantry we are building out, but it won't be this machine. It doesn't make better coffee than my Cuisinart and if I want pour over, I will just make pour over, and I will do so properly. I just initiated a return, which Amazon made seamless and easy.

Dang it! I really wanted to like this coffee maker but alas the reviews were accurate. First, yes, tje plastic parts feel really cheap for the price. Two, it doesn't saturate the grounds evenly. The spray bar only soaks about half the grounds so unless you make a full carafe your really not getting the full flavor of the beans, which is a waste of money. Third, and injad thos same issue with the simply good maker too, it just doesn't get hot enough. Of you drink yoir coffee black, its probably ok but I like a splash of creamer and that really takes the heat out of the coffee because its not brewed hot enough. I never have this problem with amy kureig products so I know its not me using too much creamer. But after a splash of creamer, the coffee is room temp warm within minutes. Guess its going back.

We have been drinking pour over for a year. I’ve been intrigued by the moccamaster after seeing all the reviews. We were ready for a change. All I can say is WoW, the best coffee I have ever had. It’s smooth, strong and hot, everything I want in my coffee. It’s really hot which is a big deal. It stays fresh tasting even when I go for a second cup after about 45 minutes. So worth the money, I consider myself very picky about my coffee. Most coffees do not satisfy, but this is amazingly perfect every morning ❤️

I thought I made a decent cup of pour over coffee. I thought so until I had my first cup from this incredible machine! It’s incredibly smooth and delicious. I don’t have time for manual pour over in the morning but didn’t want cheap drip coffee. This maker fits the bill! So quick and easy to use. The price was my holdout for a while but I’m so glad I bit the bullet and bought it. I’m the only coffee drinker in my house and I make just one cup per day. It’s below the recommended 4 cup minimum but it seems to be working out just fine. The single cup maker doesn’t have the amazing reviews that this model does so I’m glad I chose this one. Very happy with it!
