Good speeds. Worthwhile replacement for old hdds
So far so good. Replaced an hdd in a 10 year old gaming laptop and it can now play modern games load speed wise. Will see how long it lasts as its currently running almost 24/7

Good!
This TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z SATA III SSD (512GB) performed excellently. Installation was quick and easy, and it was immediately recognized by my system without any issues. The drive feels solid and reliable, with fast read/write speeds that noticeably improved overall performance compared to my old HDD. Build quality is good and the heat-spreader design seems to help with temperature management. I’ve been using it for everyday tasks, gaming, and file storage, and it has handled everything smoothly. Great value for the price — a very dependable SSD that I’d recommend to anyone looking to upgrade storage.

The Vulcan Z SSDs by Teamgroup are actually good
I had never heard of teamgroup but they were recommended by a veteran IT guy so I went ahead and bought a couple of the Vulcan Z series earlier this year in 2025 (1x1TB & 1x512GB). I used one to replace the hdd on my mother-inlaw’s old thinkpad and give it some new life, and one as a second hard drive in my wife’s computer, and they’ve been awesome so far. (The old thinkpad has new life and it’s snappy again and it’s useable again.) It’s only been a little less than a year so we’ll see how these things do in the long haul but so far, they’ve been great. I’ve even bought a couple more since, and will probably continue to use them in the future (barring they don’t get too expensive, if course). All in all, great value for the price — at least at the time — of around $60-70 CAD for the 1TB Teamgroup Vulcan Z series ssd and around $40-45 CAD for the 512GB of the same series. Prices have gone up quite a bit — ~$60-70 CAD as of about March 2025 to $95 CAD as of Oct 2025 — but I think it’s still pretty good value.
