Is the smell over powering?

I would advise if u r going to spray that u leave room for 5 minutes and make sure pets r out of the way. Hope that helps 😊

You didn’t check the delivery box properly. It happens to me before & when I called Customerservices- it’s because I didn’t click the “free” delivery box. You have to change it yourself it doesn’t automatically do it for you.

Does this work against flying ants or do I need the ant spray for that?

Yes it will but ants fly when leaving the nest you'd probably be better off using powder along the "run's" where the ants are moving about and putting down the poison gel , that way the nest is destroyed rather than a few of the flying ones.
