End game retro handheld for me!
Absolutely fantastic device, now I actually play retro games instead of just tinker and set them up! Coming from a long list of other handhelds, from an RG Nano up to a Steam Deck, this is what I'm playing most by a long shot. Pros: - Comfy (ergonomics that actually work) - Small (actually pocketable) - Powerful (everything up to and including GC and PS2 upscaled and without needing hacks) - Perfect screen (oled is stunning, odd aspect ratio and resolution works well on so many systems - Android sleep has made picking it up and putting it down a joy - Beautiful design - Handles android games well Cons: - Setting up android can be a pain, no two ways about it. - Face buttons are inexplicably loud, definitely isn't something you can play in bed next to someone. Will need to mod it in the future I've not listed 16:9 content under the cons section because that's not what this device is about. If you want to play more modern systems or stream, clearly you should be looking elsewhere. PSP is the only older system you can't play under ideal circumstances on this, so that's an acceptable tradeoff given all the pluses. Hell, it'll even play NDS and 3DS nicely if you know how to customise dual screen layouts, given the tall, almost square aspect ratio of the screen. This does need setting up, and comes with no games so you need to supply your own. Neither task is beyond any retro games fan, and tinkering is often part of the fun! The end result is an awesome little device. For actual retro games this is my end-game device!

One of the best pocketable handhelds
Great pocketable handheld. Vivid screen although I wish it was a bit wider, nice build quality, handles up to p$2 and some sw!tch, comfortable to hold, very good battery life. Cons: alil loud Abxy buttons, 4:3 screen, reflective glass front but all these are not deal breakers. If you add those reversible covers it's one of the best pocketable/smaller handhelds for the $.

Met/exceeded expectations
This met my expectations to a T. Everything I read and heard from reviewers about this device has mirrored my experience so far. It has run nearly everything I’ve thrown at it without too much in the way of adjusting settings. I have noticed that some of the nicer looking/cpu intensive gen 6 games have slowdown/playability problems but have had no issues with the large majority of the library that I play. I have not drained the battery in one sitting, but will use 10-20% over a 1-2 hour session of mixed 2/3D gaming on emulators and native android games. Although I wish it had an Xbox style analog stick layout, it is not uncomfortable to use sticks alongside triggers/bumpers. Screen quality is excellent, and black bars are well hidden in rooms with lights on/invisible with lights off due to it being OLED. It is small, but not so small that readability is compromised in most games. Does not feel cramped. This is the first handheld emulator I’ve ever set up, but with the many tutorials and guides available it was relatively easy. The few difficulties I’ve had were quickly resolved with a google search. I use ES-DE and have set it to be my home screen. It is a very seamless experience once set up properly. I have enjoyed my time with it so far, and expect to for the foreseeable future.

quality lil emulator
i own several handheld emulators , but this is the one i grab the most , i know some people say its not good for twin stick shooters cuz its small , but thats the majority of what i play on it with no problems and i have medium size hands , the oled screen is gorgeous , the buttons all feel great , face buttons i think could be a lil better but they work just fine and dont really bother me.....

The handheld I’m actually keeping
I’ve owned pretty much every retro handheld out there, but the Retroid Pocket Mini v2 is the first one I can confidently say I’ll keep. It handles everything up to and including Nintendo Switch games, and I mainly use it for PS2 titles—it runs great. The small size is a huge win. Unlike my Steam Deck, which is powerful but bulky, this is something I can just pick up and play whenever. It’s pocketable, lightweight, and convenient without sacrificing performance. If you’re looking for a retro handheld that balances portability and power, this is the one. My Steam Deck hasn’t been touched since I got this.

Amazing retro emulation power
I'm thoroughly impressed by the Retroid Pocket Mini -- especially its ability to play games all the way up to Gamecube and PS2. The battery life is good, the screen is good, it feels great in my hands. The only downside is that it has a pretty significant learning curve when it comes to transferring ROMs and downloading/installing/customizing each individual emulator. I can see that being an issue for folks who aren't tech-savvy, but it's really the only gripe I can come up with after about a week with the device.

If you have another 16:9 handheld, this is a must have drag around town device
I dunno, what could I complain about…. the buttons are loud…. I guess that’s it really. A replacement gbc dpad membrane fits the buttons and makes it perfect. Pretty simple, a few screws, a little bit of trimming the membrane and that’s it. Really ups the premium feel by doing this swap and it’s virtually silent but obviously that should’ve been done in the factory for a device with this price. I’ve had a dozen of these type handhelds over the years and the only one that came close to being this comfortable without a grip was the powkiddy rgb10max2. You do want a grip for dual stick gaming but the triggers are perfectly curved and high quality. The sticks have a great feel and are accurate. The dpad is same as retroid has used for a while and is excellent with few false diagonals. Start/select and home/back buttons are where they should be and easy to reach. Half inch longer than iphone12 mini, a bit heavier and a little thicker (not factoring in the hand bumps) so this actually fully fits in your pocket vs sticking out to get caught on something etc. Runs 85% ps2 at 2x resolution no settings tweaks required, that’s pretty awesome. 5% require some minor tweaking such as reducing the resolution but that’s about it, another 5% require some deeper knowledge of settings like skip draw and another 5% don’t play at all due to emulator compatibility. GameCube is probably 97% perfect upscaled to 1080p with rare needs for adjustment. It plays ds/3ds perfectly at 4x but it isn’t very fun on the small screen. Anything below that (including psp) you get 100% with upscaling and even heavy shaders like crt effects. The oled screen is fantastic, deep rich colors and the black bars disappear where as with LCD there is always a little bit of a grey look. If you’re playing a 4:3 game you won’t notice the small black bars on top and bottom as they just blend in with the device. I’ve found some ps2 games to be a little too small to see, but god of war, Metroid prime, gran tourismo etc all look great in their native ratio. It gets very bright and very dim as well. Battery life is excellent and sleep mode looses 1% over night. I mix it up with classic games and ps2 etc and I can get 5-6hours before hitting 20%. This is a great device to slap a screen protector on, toss it in the pocket and forget it’s there yet be able to get into a game and play for either minutes or hours! There are many others like this but none compare in comfort.
