Columbia Men's Transverse Hike Waterproof | Fully Waterproof, High Traction, Lightweight, Wide Fit Available

I bought these boots because I wanted a relatively cheap pair of boots I could destroy without feeling the pain of the cost or care if they weren’t any good. Let me tell you, these boots are absolutely fantastic. I cannot stress enough how much these out preformed my expectations and made my job infinitely more survivable. These boots were used on a 20 day movie shoot in the Catskills. We were climbing steep mountain sides/cliff faces, trudging through ankle deep mud, wading through rivers and countless rock beds, absolutely torrential downpours (we got multiple inches of rain over 24 hours a couple times) temperatures that ranged from the low 50s to the mid 90s. These boots stood through it all. They don’t get too hot, they don’t get too cold. They have a decently wide footbed to give you solid contact with the boot. The traction is great, trust me! The waterproofing held up throughout everything. It is rare that I find myself buying something now a days that actually does what it says and then does it well. If you’re looking for a good set of non steel toe work or hiking boots these are the ones. You don’t need to drop crazy money when these guys will get you where you want to go and do so comfortably. They also used to look pretty nice too before all the mud, rain, and dust. Just buy them and thank yourself later. I will be buying these again when they need replacing.

Got these Columbia boots to replace my old Keens. The Keens are very comfortable but they're expensive and they were never quite as waterproof as I wanted. My size is 12, so I ordered 13 wide to keep my toes from getting squished together and allow for thicker socks in winter. What I like: * Right out of the box the shoes feel very comfortable. My toes are happy and don't get jammed when going down a steep trail. My initial impression after a few 5-mile hikes over fairly rocky terrain is quite good. * Although they look bulky, I'm impressed at how light they are. * Good ankle support * Lacing system is good. What I mean is that on some of my boots (e.g., my Keens) there's too much friction so it's hard to get them tight enough. I have other boots where there isn't enough friction so after pulling them tight the laces loosen up right away before I can tie a knot. Here, the friction seems to be about right. The top two set of eyelets are actually lace hooks, which makes it easier and faster to get laced up. What I don't like: Nothing yet Other comments: * They have less breathable fabric than my Keens so they are a bit hotter. This is bad in summer but good in winter * The insoles are just a thin pad of rubber-like stuff, about 3/16" thick, and they don't provide any support. However, it's easy to pull them out and put in your own insole if you need better heel padding or arch support. This is what I did and it works fine. * I haven't been anywhere that's wet so can't comment on how waterproof they are. * I'm really nervous about buying footwear online because I hate returning things. So it's a relief to get some boots that are going to work for me.

These are some nice hiking boots, and the price is on the low end for real leather, which is nice. There is one thing a bit weird about them though. I have never worn wide shoes, yet the regular width for these was way too tight, even with the laces completely loosened. So I ordered wide and they fit great. Very comfortable. So, if you really do have narrow feet, get the regular width. But you might want to try wide even if all your other shoes are regular width.

I'm 6'3" tall and 185 lbs. I also have size 15-Wide feet which has always made shopping for shoes really difficult. So you can imagine my delight in finding these Columbia boots in exactly my size! Columbia is a brand name I trust with a good track record over many years. The good news? They're comfortable, flexible, and fit me perfectly! The quality of these boots is also first rate - the stitching and assembly of the boot is excellent. The insole provided is comfortable, providing a nice cushion with each footfall. The quality of the soles and tread are tough and long-lasting! I do a lot of hiking and hill-climbing in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. I cover about 15 to 20 miles each time I go out and encounter a multitude of varied terrains ranging from volcanic basalt (smooth and often slippery), volcanic lahar (composite and aggregate mud flow which is very abrasive and rough), meadows, wetlands, gravely surfaces, and dry dusty trails. These are rough conditions with many changes in elevation, and these boots hold firmly on all of these surfaces. The ankle-high design with the scoop back gives your Achilles tendon room to move freely providing necessary support without constriction. I'm confident when hiking, especially on steep inclines with a rugged surfaces, that I can rely on them to keep me safe from slipping or falling. I'm keeping a log of how many miles I walk in these boots and will be interested to see what their longevity is. So far I've covered over 60 miles in these boots and the tread on the soles hardly show any wear at all. These boots are also stylish and look great when I wear them. I receive compliments on them quite frequently. A great consideration is also the value for the money. For a mid-priced boot, they outperform boots I've paid nearly twice as much for. I will definitely buy these boots again when the time comes.

These shoes are incredibly light and have excellent grip, but they lack breathability. They’re also significantly larger than normal shoes, so you’ll need to run at least half size larger than usual. Despite this, the quality is top-notch.

I love these shoes. I bought them in February and they've worn in nicely. They fit great, and my feet don't feel tired after wearing these all day. I like the color and style. No issues with wearing these in the rain either. I'm thinking of buying another pair.

My nephew absolutely loved these. They were a gift for for his mission trip to Alaska. He shared they were comfortable, have great grip, made of durable and quality material, and lightweight. He’s able to use as sneaker and work boot. Perfect for the mission at hand. He says he has no scuffs, so scuff resistant. I recall buying these some years ago for my younger son and he loved them so much I bought them a few times. If you are looking for a good comfortable work boot that feels like a sneaker, search no more. This is it! Get yours.

I spend at least an hour and a half to two hours in the woods in extreme terrain every day. I wear a size 13 shoe, so weight is a major consideration beyond the shoe construction. I own a pair of Merrill low cut hiking shoes that weigh 3.4 lbs. I own a pair of Ortho high top waterproof hiking shoes that weigh 3.8 lbs. These shoes weigh a mere 2.4 lbs. and from experience know that they are waterproof. Beyond that the sole is well made and the heel to toe drop is at least average. The only caveat I would mention is that I ordinarily wear a medium width and ordered them in a medium which ended up being too tight. These are wide and that made all the difference. I paid a hundred dollars more for my Merrills and forty dollars more for my Ortho. Taking cost and weight of the shoes into consideration, I consider these shoes an excellent deal.

Bota muito bonita, excelente acabamento. Bastante confortável. As botas da Columbia que comprei comparadas com a numeração no Brasil são maiores, se atente a isso na hora de comprar.

Al principio no tuve buena experiencia pero solo tuve que cambiar de calcetín, buenos a secas
