ieGeek 12.5" Portable DVD Player with 10.5" HD Swivel Screen, Purple | For Kids, Home Use & Road Trips, No Region Restriction, 5 Hrs Rechargeable Battery, Remote Control, Sync to TV, USB & SD

I didn't think I would be purchasing yet another portable DVD player again with all the available digital streaming options out there, however I travel a good deal and find the internet speeds at many hotels to be lacking making streaming almost impossible (or irritating to say the least). I bought a large scree DVD player earlier this year which has worked great, but I wanted a smaller one as well. After some research I purchased this 12.5 " ieGeek model. The price was right and it supports a lot of file formats including: CD, DVD, DVD + R(-R), DVD + RW(-RW), VCD, SVCD-R(RW), CD-R(RW). As well as multi-media files VOB, AVI, MPEG, MP3, WMA, JPEG using either the USB input or the SD card slot. The DVD player arrived well packed with no issues. The player looks sharp, though the gloss finish is definitely a fingerprint magnet. The compact remote includes the button cell battery which is already installed. The remote has a lot of functions built in, but is not back-lit and the buttons are small, so it might be easier to control the DVD player using the on-board controls in a dark environment. (see pic) As for the picture quality, I am very pleased. The screen is crisp, and clear with viewing angles are generous and the screen rotates up and down and back and forth easily using a single center hinge. The stereo sound from the DVD player is also decent. Even in a noisy environment I can still watch and hear a movie with the volume in the mid-range setting. One of the features I like is after turning the DVD/Multimedia player off and then back on the DVD will begin playing where you left off. This DVD player can also be used to listen to CD's, or MP3's on a flash drive or SD card.. The sound from this DVD player cannot match that of a full blown stereo system, but it still sounds pretty good. I can also turn off the LCD while playing music to extend the battery life. I have just started using this DVD/Multimedia player, but so far I am happy with it and look forward to taking this player with me on the road. (12-volt charger is included.) I also look forward to checking out some of the multimedia capabilities. Once I do so I will update this review.

Edit- nice picture, fanatastic sound, but there is a spec of no color on screen that really drives me nuts, but doesn't seem to bother my daughter. Nice packaging, came protected with bubble wrap. Our daughter asked for this for Christmas! This is going to be to the best christmas present for our daughter who is 10. We lose power alot out here , so this will be great for those power outages for the kiddos! I thought they sent me the wrong one until my husband pointed out that they measure corner to corner parallel not across. It's only 10 inches across..which is honestly the best for little ones hands. You don't want something to big for them to carry around.

I purchased this portable DVD/CD player for my 91 year old aunt; and she enjoys using this item. Prior to giving the player to my aunt, I tested the functionality of the device beforehand. The device is easy to use, and the quality is good. It's a lightweight device, however it is not lightweight to the extent that you would seriously question the quality of the player. The loading time when playing a DVD and CD was good. The picture quality was decent and clear given the price point for this player. All in all, the picture quality was not the most spectacular, however, it was not the worst that I've seen. A plus for the device is the screen swivel feature. The sound quality/sound output was okay--not loud enough (and a smidgeon tinny) for my personal taste, but definitely loud enough for my 91 year aunt who has no serious hearing issues. It has an AV input/output, a headphone jack and a port and a slot respectively for an USB cord and SD card. The player has a remote control and the remote control is very easy to use. The power cord for the device is not tremendously long, and you'll likely require an extension cord if you are not in close proximity to an power outlet. Sorry, that I can't address battery life, because I did not have the opportunity to test it. But i can say the device was used without the power cord with no problem after I charged the device for a short period of time. I purchased the device in purple and it is a nice color if you like devices with a nice pop of color. In the heydey of DVD/CD players when they were a must-have for consumers, this device would have been a good choice for those folks looking for a budget player. Definitely not top of the line, but a good value. In sum, I would personally recommend this player because it is a good value for the price. HOWEVER, this device might not be a good choice for individuals who prefer exceptional picture and sound quality.

I’m very happy with this purchase! The Dvd Player worked great when I first received it. After a while, I ran into a small issue, but I contacted the seller and they responded quickly. They provided excellent customer service and resolved the problem without any hassle. It’s clear they stand behind what they sell and genuinely care about their customers. Thanks to their support, everything is working great again. I would definitely buy from this seller again and highly recommend them!

I purchased the iegeek portable DVD player, for my 98 yr old father, to make watching videos easy for him. I purchased mine on June 4th 2023. It had a 1 year warranty from time of purchase. Everything was good, with picture, features, ease of use, and my dad really liked it. However, in January '24, my father said the picture was off, and the controls did not work...Playing a DVD, the screen, looked like a "negative" image seen in a photo. I reached out to Customer service, asking how to reset the player, or any other way to fix this. I received an email reply the next day, asking me to send a short video of the problems, along with purchase receipt and date. After two days, I received another email, and was told that the technicians said, it was faulty within the screen itself, and couldn't be repaired. They then said they would send me another new DVD player, to replace this faulty one, s&h paid by them. I was so grateful and thankful for this very friendly and expedient customer service, to replace the defective dvd player. This is a good product, but rest assured, if anything goes wrong, they go above and beyond to fix the problem and give complete Customer Satisfaction. I shall definitly buy from this company again. Just received both of my portable DVD players yesterday (yes, I ordered two and I will tell you why later). I opened them and plugged them in for charging overnight. This morning I gave them a run through at the breakfast table. My little girl had her eyes glued to the screen!!! They are AWESOME!!! The picture is great, the sound is good and they are so easy to operate. I used the UV cable (purchased separately) to connect the two and could watch the same movie on both screens; that was just plugging them together and pushing the MODDE button that is right on the control panel, how easy! I brought the remote out to see how that would work with two units playing the same movie. I was able to change the volume on each unit with the same remote by simply pointing at the unit I wanted the change on; how easy is that!! It looks like I can control both units with the same remote by just pointing it at the unit I want to change, I won't have to use both remotes!! I spent considerable time researching the portable DVD players before my purchase. I purchase two of these and so far I am thrilled with my decision!! Others in the same price point (this unit x 2 on sale ~$140) only offered one unit with a "dummy" unit and you could not play them individually if you wanted to. Other units were smaller in size, some where not high enough picture quality and others were just way too expensive for what they are being used for. I will be using these in our truck for my toddler to watch movies when we travel for long distances; this is only a couple of times per year. I would have had to spend a lot more money to buy a dual unit with separate functionality or have only one real unit to play on. I found this unit and doubled up to get my Dual Portable DVD Players. The Best Bang for my Buck!!!

Pleased with the responsiveness of the company, we reached out inside the warranty due to a broken part. Fairy at ieGeek responded quickly, resolving the problem and even following up. Smooth experience. Overall this DVD player is a good solution for our littles, it’s attractive with decent battery life and easy to carry.

Stopped working after a few months of minimal use. I replaced this item a few times hoping the quality problem was a one-off issue but not the case. I had the player setup with their “warranty” which is a total scam. I sent them an email with the issue and they responded at first giving me troubleshooting tips, which didn’t work then they completely ghosted me. I don’t recommend buying this product because it’s obviously bad quality and the company doesn’t stand behind their warranty.
