Great quality bag
Very well made, great addition to my truck and decent travel bag. Had hoped this would compress well to store in my motorcycle tail but the heavy material doesn’t quite allow that much compression. That’s ok, just speaks to the quality of the product. Catches wind while riding but stays closed and the sternum latch keeps the bag from falling off my shoulders

Better than Apple Care
Wow. I got my loctote bag a few days ago and the sheer quality of the item compelled me to leave a review, but I’ll get to the bag itself in a moment. First I want to address the customer service, which absolutely floored me. I reached out to the company via email because at the time they only had the Coalition bag on Amazon, and being a poor student (pursuing a law degree) I needed to use gift cards to afford it. The day I sent my email I received a response from a very nice guy named Christopher, and after an exchange of emails he helped me purchase a bag without any hiccups. Christopher was absolutely phenomenal, even getting in touch with me after my purchase to ensure I was not just satisfied but happy with my new backpack. Now to the bag. The reason I am poor (well, one of them, ahem *ridiculous tuition*) is because my last backpack, with my MacBook Pro, iPad and several expensive legal textbooks was stolen after I left it in a classroom while I went to the restroom. The class let out early and some $&*@$ took the whole bag, even though I had a travel lock on the zippers(I know, pitiful). After doing some research online I found the loctote industrial bag company, and decided to make the investment. 10000/10 best purchase ever. It’s a lot roomier than I expected, big enough to fit my replacement 13” laptop(probably not enough room for a 15” though), plus 2 8”x10” textbooks that are each a couple inches thick, with enough room left for my lunch and whatever else I need that day. The interior pockets are super convenient for pens, earbuds, chargers whatever you need. I like the RFID blocking feature, it’s nice to have the extra peace of mind so I toss my wallet in there when I take the bus or train. The actual material of the bag is probably my favorite part, it just feels supple and durable. It’s thick stuff, whatever it is, and it gives the bag a nice heft, which I was a little worried about at first, but after wearing it I found that the rope straps are plenty wide so it doesn’t cut into your shoulder, even when you load it up. Embarrassingly, I also found that the thickness adds padding to whatever is inside. I say embarrassingly because I was bombing a hill on my skateboard, late to class, and ate s*** on my back. Not only was the bag fine (not a loose thread) but my laptop, which, to be fair, was in a lightly padded case, was totally fine after being used as a sled for 20ft for my 180 pounds. I haven’t had anyone try to break into the bag, but if that doesn’t speak to it’s quality I don’t know what will. The only thing I changed is the lock, it seems like it would do the job but I wanted a black one because it matches better and plus it’s more low key. I’m not exactly trying to advertise that I have a locking bag, which presumably would have something expensive in it.At the end of the day this thing is worth it just for the sense of security it gives you. My girlfriend wants one because she likes that it’s Bear Proof “just in case” she gets attacked by one on a well populated campus, she’ll be mauled but her bag will be fine. Google it, they got it certified somehow. When I read reviews of anything online I’m always skeptical. People BS these all the time, but for what it’s worth this is the only company I’ll buy a bag from again. I love it, I love it, I love it. I already have my eye on one of their “sport” ones to take to the gym, so I don’t have to constantly empty it and refill it. Plus it comes in a really cool retro denim color;)

The best security backpack with a few issues.
First thing I can tell you is that this is the best security backpack I have tried. However, it has it's issues which everybody should consider before buying.Pros.You will have a very good sense of security while wearing this backpack while in a crowded bus or train. The security method is good but has it's fails. The bag is made of an material which can't be torn with a knife or other types of blades. This bag can fit quite a bit inside the bag.ConsThe strap which needs to be pulled "very hard" in order to display the metal grommets which the provided lock engages in, is very hard to use. The manual says that it will initially be a challenge because it's new and will be easier after a few tries. However, for me, this did not happen. If you had to lock and unlock your back several times in a row, it gets old.The lock which is provided, is great and looks to be very strong. However, you can't store the lock behind the leather patch while the lock is being used and just tangles from the pack. Having a padlock just dangling in pain view, just signals crooks that there is something expensive inside the bag. A dangling padlock gives the expression that you don't trust anybody. My fix to all these fails, is to use a small TSA cable combo lock which easily inserts into the 2 metal grommets and can easily behind the leather patch. The lock is now hidden behind the leather patch. I would only use this TSA cable lock while the pack is used on my back while traveling around. No crook would have the time or skills to fumble with cable lock in order to get access to your backpack. I would only use the provided lock when I want to secure the bag to a fixed object. This is when an exposed and dangling lock would be a great thing to see.The latest version of this bag is very heavy. I think the original version of this bag would prevent any knife slashes and does not justify the extra $50. The locking methods are identical to both models. With the bag in use, there is a gap at the top with rain will fall through. If you are an XL guy, the straps are too short if wearing a bulky jacket. While I was using a cell phone battery charger stored in one of the pockets, I could feel the heat from the charger on my back.Tip: Since there no partitions inside the bag, everything you put inside, drops to the bottom to form a large ball. This would be hard to find certain items. My solution to this, is to make a partition. Take a piece of cardboard which is the same width and height of the inside of the bag, then place this cardboard inside USPS Priority mail Express mailing envelope. This essentially makes a 2 sided partition which you can place item on either side while inside the bag. This helps with the structure of bag without having a big ball at the bottom. It's a lot easier to move around in a crowded train or bus.To end this long review, I think this bag is one of the best security bag in the market today I should know, I travel to a lot of shady places and security is important to me. Hopefully, future versions will incorporate some of my ideas to make it better.

Rugged, durable, theft proof.
I have travelled extensively in SE Asia for the past year and this is my go to carrier when I leave my lodging place. Generous capacity and easily locks to pretty much anything you can find. Especially great for beach excursions.

Bad lock, no customer service
Like other reviews have said, mine arrived with a four digit combo lock. The accompanying instructions are for a three digit lock, so that is dysfunctional from the start. The instructions advise turning the shackle 90 degrees to reset. That did not work. The Loctote video online shows a three digit lock and advises turning the shackle 180 degrees, more dysfunction and still did not work. I contacted customer service in email and they sent a PDF that I had to download to see (annoying). It showed a four digit lock and advised removing the screw at the top of the lock to reset. So now three different approaches and a higher level of dysfunction. I asked how doing that can be secure if someone else can remove the screw, reset the lock and gain access. At that point customer service stopped responding. Draw your own conclusions.
