The Perfect Introduction
Tiny but deadly - the smallest NERF gun available, the Jolt is simultaneously among the most accurate and powerful (long-ranged) of all due to the sheer simplicity of its design. Place a single dart into the barrel mouth and pull the plunger in the base of the handle until it clicks, then squeeze the trigger. The NERF equivalent to a Derringer concealable pistol, reminiscent of card sharps and rough saloons in the American Old West, it will barely exceed the dimensions of your fist as you grip it to fire. It will fire Whistler darts (standard) or Sucker darts (no longer sold in the UK for some reason), but will often misfire if loaded with 'streamline' darts from its larger semi-automatic cousins. It's solidly made, having only two moving parts - there aren't many ways you COULD break this thing. You get two darts in the pack, and can share darts with the larger Barricade, Vulcan and Maverick among others.... and it's ridiculously cheap by the standards of these toys.Either as a backup for a dedicated player or as an affordable gift to introduce a friend or encourage fights at home or in the office, I cannot recommend this gun enough, I have not the words =)Grab it. What have you got to lose?

power in small package!
In these days of health and safety madness I was really amazed to find out how well this tiny little gun shot its little darts. It really does fire a long way and with a pretty flat trajectory over the size of most rooms or outside in a small garden. It seems really robust with a simple and strong cocking lever. The darts are a work of ingenuity...they travel very well, whistle and are really quite accurate, but upon impact you could never hurt someone, with the exception perhaps of a hit in the open eye and even then it would probably do no damage.I gave these guns to a couple of nephews and they both agreed this little gun outshot the bigger, fancier Nerf blasters they had, so its a top toy and top value.Whether its particularly educational could be debated, but I do believe any toy that gets kids running around, encouraging imaginative play, competitiveness and using spatial skills (like allowing for trajectory drop and kentucky windage), has to be a refreshing change from all the dumb electronics that keep them anchored to the sofa.It even makes a good office toy!

Brilliant, fun little toys
I'd just moved in with my partner for the first time and thought these could be fun for mini battles around the house. We've had a few fun moments shooting at each other but no epic battles as of yet. These little pistols are surprisingly accurate and powerful. The ammo is soft and doesn't hurt on impact even at close range. As a bonus our kitten loves to play with the bullets, so I can shoot them down the hallway and he'll run along after them. The only thing I dislike about them is that they aren't super easy to reload, it takes a bit of effort to pull down the pump thingy at the bottom.Anyone looking for a bit of fun for cheap will have a great time with these, a great introduction to the Nerf range.

very very powerfull!!
The nerf gun jolt is amazing! It is the most powerfull nerf gun i've ever used!It is very fun to play with. The gun is nice and small and it can fit in your pocket perfectly. The only minor problem is that it doesn't hold any bullets but thats just a small thing.Overall the Nerf jolt is fantastic.I highly recommend you buy it.

My son ....
My six year old son loves his nerf guns but I don't see the attraction myself, the bullets can give a bit of a sting if they hit bare skin.

Small but fun
Bought it for a rainy day indoors, tiny thing but good fun the kids love it. Cheap to buy but delivery is overpriced for the item size.

Nerf Quality - Pocket Money Price
When it comes to toy firearms Nerf guns are in a league of their own and come with a price tag that reflects this, meaning that many just can't afford them. Fortunately the folks over at Hasbro seem to have realised this and gave us the Jolt. It's compact and powerful, with a good range but none of the frills of the pricier Nerf guns. It's simple to use, however having to reload between each shot means a low firing rate; if you're planning an all-out Nerf war, this should not be your primary weapon.I bought this product when I was looking for a `tin can alley' game, the cheapest and poorest-quality of which started at around ยฃ10; for less than that I picked up a Jolt and 32 spare darts, and for targets I can just save up some old drinks cans at home.On the subject of ammunition, I know it's been mentioned elsewhere but it's worth repeating: if you're buying extra darts, make sure you get the same ones as come with the gun (in this case, black-tipped whistling darts) as others are unlikely to fit.In summary: if you want Nerf quality on a budget, and don't mind having a more basic model, then buy this gun.
