My adapter leaks from the two little ports that can be used for gauges. is there anything other than just the plug that is suppose to be on there?

The threads of the plug should have thread sealer on them. They're probably not shipped that way, so you'll need to do it. A little Teflon tape or pipe thread sealer like "SWAK" will do the trick.

How much more oil should i put in now that it's installed?

1 quart is what I needed to refill to the proper level.
