Q: Is this unit Locked or unlocked?

This SPA 525G2 came boxed and refurbished like new and was unlocked also having all appropriate cables. A power supply for the phone would need to be purchased seperately and can be a wall wart or one of the POE (Power Over Ethernet) options. I elected for and purchased a POE block for less than $ 20.00. I am involved in amateur radio ARES operations which support our local county and this phone is part of a voice over IP network called "Hamshack Hotline" which is exclusive to licensed operators in such support roles. I had no problems at all installing and going through the provisioning process for the phone. I am very pleased with my purchase and the results.

Q: How can you tell if the phone is locked/unlocked

Hi James, Usually the phone web GUI is locked with a password and the phone shows on the WEB UI who or what is the customization. If you see for example customization is "XXXXX" then the phone is most probably locked. Thanks

The seller should provide the answer to this question. The product ID in the offer corresponds to the G2 model.

Q: Is this phone the 525G or 525G2?

The image of SPA525G and SPA525G2 is basically identical and "G2" is not labelled on the front panel. The seller should tell you what is on the back panel or on the box. Essentially, from a testing and configuration point of view, the SPA525G2 is identical to the SPA525G, aside from the enhanced Bluetooth functionality.
