This device deserves its high ratings for its low price and small size. I'll quibble with it slightly just so you're fully informed before you buy. The cap doesn't attach to the back like a pen cap or stay tethered with a cord, so it's loose when you use it and could go missing if you're disorganized. Also, there's no eject mechanism, so removing an SD card will need two hands, one to hold the device and the other to pull on the card. This requires extra dexterity for micro-SD cards, not only because the card is tiny but also because the slot is hidden under the tapered end of the device and you have to pinch and tug on the miniature sides of the small bit of the card that's sticking out. But overall, I've found this device to be highly useful and I'm pleased with the price. If you will be using micro-SD cards frequently, however, you might look for something with an easy eject button. Spending a little more today could give you a little more satisfaction tomorrow.

I used it to edit the config.txt file on Micro SD card for configuring the digital display of Raspbian. It is easy to use, however unstable on my computer - the USB was a bit loose so I have to prevent touching it. I didn't experience problems other purchasers had though. It transfered files pretty quick and didn't fry my computer nor my SD card.And note: This reader will be displayed as multiple drives on computer (at lease mine, which is Win10). If you see your computer saying something like you must format your drive to use it, don't format it. Just check your file explorer if there's any other drives. Open those ones instead.

Great product! I had a SD card that when I put it in my laptop, I would get an error that it wanted to format my card. If I let it format it, I’d lose all my photos! But it wouldn’t let me save or even view my photos. The only thing I could do was format it. So I bought this device and plugged it into my laptop and now it lets me view and save all my photos and videos on the card!

This works great or as described. The only downfall is you have to load your sd cards from the bottom or blow the device. This makes it very difficult to use without removing it with every use. However on the positive side if you are using a micro sd card it will load straight on in the front.

I needed an inexpensive SD card reader in a hurry. This was it. Not the most versatile out there but I wasn't looking for that. It lets me read from and write to an SD card when plugged into a USB 2.0 port on my Windows 7 PC, which is all I needed.

I bought this item after 2 other products from different companies failed after very limited use.The reason I bought it was becasue I read the reviews on the item and they were all positive.So far the SD reader has held up, so far so good. We'll see how it does when I start to stress the micro SDfunction in a week or so.
