Quick And easy to install.
My pond pump stopped working and I was going to buy another one but a friend recommended I just take it a part and replace the Impeller... So I did and the price was reasonable and it was a quick fix. Now my pond is clear and pump works like new.

I am sure that there was a very good reason for the original design
As a replacement for the one your pump wore out, this works very well. However the design is flawed and WILL wear out just as the first one did. The 'propeller' which you see in the left side of the picture is a separate piece from the cylindric magnet/shaft on the right. The two pieces do not fit solidly together but have loosely intermeshing plastic 'fingers' which allow the bladed piece to wobble a little on the shaft of magnet piece. These fingers wear as they rub against each other every time the propeller revolves. After a few months of constant use they fit more and more loosely and the pump first becomes very noisy and then stops pumping as the worn fingers inside the propeller simply slide past the worn fingers on the shaft. Upon buying the new one and comparing it to the old one, the problem was obvious. My solution was to epoxy the propeller to the shaft allowing no slippage to occur and let ithe assembly dry for a day or two before installing. It's now been in place for three months with no noise or indication of problems. I am sure that there was a very good reason for the original design, and that I am doing something terrible by expoxying the two pieces together, but for the price they want for these little beauties, I'm willing to take my chances.

Very happy customer
I thought I was going to have to throw away my pond filter/pump because it stopped working. I thought I would take a chance on order a new impeller and hurray... it fixed the problem and saved me a lot of money.

Replaceable parts are the best!
I'm a fan of Pondmaster pumps, but a statuary pump I bought last year which kept clogging within an hour. I tried a pump bag, and that didn't work. This year, when I tried again - the pump decided that it wasn't going to work. I'm sure all of the clogging it did in the week I tried to use it last year destroyed the impeller. It was chattering, shaking and just not working. I almost bought a new pump, but I thought I'd give this a shot. I bought this new impeller, it was delivered very quickly, and I was back in business. With the help of google and the forums online, I rigged a "prefilter" for this pump, I have been running a spitter in my koi/goldfish pond (with heavy fish load) for about 4 days without any issue. I'm ecstatic!!!
