Works to extend ports for more devices.
Ok so it works well. Pros, it does allow you to hook up more devices. Does display 4K 60hz. Has a remote. Is small enough to hide well but has to be able to be read by the remote to change the inputs. Now to the cons. It does like I said have to be in clear sight for the remote to work. The remote is small and can easily be lost. The included power cord is to short and I had to buy a longer one to reach the ac adapter and the wall. If using this with a tv that has a universal remote and you hook up more than one device to the inputs it only reads the remote for the first device. In my case it allowed me to control my Xbox one x through the hdmi in my tv but when I hooked up the ps4 to the input of the device and switched over to that input the remote didn’t switch over with it so it still only controlled the Xbox. Same thing happened when I reversed the inputs. Tv picked up the ps4 but not the Xbox as the connected device and only allowed my media remote to work on the PlayStation. I also had an issue with my Bose Soundbar and it’s remote. Turns out this device and the included remote for my sound bar use the same frequency. When I press the volume up on my Bose remote the input on the device changes. Really annoying. I have 3 hdmi ports on my Samsung tv. One for the hdmi arc for my soundbar, one for my Series x which has to be used with the hdmi 2.1 connection to get 120hz and the last one for this device hub so I can use my Xbox one x,my laptop my ps4 pro and my gaming pc. If you are going to use with a universal tv remote that controls multiple devices I would recommend searching for an alternative. It does it’s job though and once set up switches over well with no loss to sound or picture between devices. Overall a good product despite the remote incompatibility issues I experienced.

Exactly the switcher I was looking for!
I’ve been using this switcher for just a bit now and love it! I’ll update this review if anything changes (or if I see any of the screen “blanking” like others have mentioned) but as of now it works great! I needed an HDMI switch to hook up multiple sources to my mClassic upscaler. I had a few requirements for an HDMI switch that this one met completely: - 4K compatibility (to help future-proof) - Automatically turns on when powered - 5 Inputs - Auto-Switching - Remote control for IR compatibility - USB powered I have a system that automatically switches a bank of USB powered devices on whenever I turn on my TV. This powers things like my mClassic, Retrotink 5x, and now this switch. The last switch I ordered required me to press a physical power switch every time it was powered, which was a deal breaker for me. This one boots right up to the first active source once it gets juice over USB! Better yet if you have two active sources and power one off, it’ll automatically switch to the next active source. Works exactly as I was hoping! I haven’t used the remote and honestly won’t use it very much, but I wanted it as an option in case I use it in a home theatre setup with a universal remote IR blaster in a cabinet somewhere. Many people report “screen blanking”, which has not been a problem for me. This may be because I have all sources going into the mClassic before reaching my TV, but my theory is that it has to do with resolution. Many times high bandwidth 4K signals are harder to have sent clearly over distance, so I’m assuming adding other devices in between can cause some issues as well. I’m not currently using this device with any 4K sources, as of now it’s been handling 1080p signals with no issues. Would definitely recommend this guy if your use-case is the same as mine! It’s a great device with simple features, I know it’ll be an important part of my gaming setup for years to come!

Decent support
I use this to plug four HDMI devices (PS4, Xbox, Apple TV, etc.) into the switch, which splits out the video signal and sends that to my older TV (2009 Westinghouse) via HDMI and separately sends the audio to my Sonos Playbase via optical audio cable. It works as expected and the audio/picture quality is good; there is no degradation or issues there as far as I can tell. The unit did stop working after five months. Obviously, that is not desirable. The only option I could find to contact their customer support was via the Amazon website. Which I must say was a very clunky interface for doing that and it was hard to locate the correct option and difficult to navigate. Once you figure out how to do this, it lets you send an email to the merchant. Their reply arrived in my email inbox. You would think that to reply to that email you could send your reply like a normal email. There were no instructions in the email that would indicate otherwise. However, it seems that they won't get the response if you send it that way. I figured out that you have to go back to Amazon.com and jump through all the navigational hoops again and send your reply from the webform. Amazon really needs to provide a better method for contacting their merchants. Anyway, once I was able to communicate with the merchant, they needed some basic info from me and then sent me a free replacement right away. So that part was good. The replacement looks like it might be an updated model, so hopefully this unit will be free of whatever flaw caused my first unit to fail. I'd like this thing to keep working for years to come.
