I have bought this type of tag many times I use them to price items that go in my shop. I punch out a paper price tag, and put the tag through it and can usually attach the plastic tag to a chain or a label in clothing. They are very sturdy and I have not been able to break them. I think you probably would need scissors to cut them I will buy again. They do come in different links so if you need a shorter tag, just make sure you study your purchase and get the right one.
