Vodafone UK Europe Prepaid SIM - Loaded with Voice, Data, Texts, and Int'l Calling

DO NOT GET THIS SIMCARD. It literally DID NOT WORK at all when I was in ANY part of Europe. Activating the card was simple enough; follow the instructions, deposit the credit, etc. I did this in the US before I left but that was kind of a mistake because it didn't even work here as some other reviews stated. small hindrance, but not a deal breaker. Landed in Barcelona and tried to use it and Nothing. not even roaming to piggyback off of other cell networks. Strike 1. Now that could be my fault since I didnt check the coverage area, which it looked like it was mostly UK based, which was fine since I was going to go to London later anyway. HOWEVER, the description on the product explicitly stated that it will work in other EU countries, including Barcelona, Italy, Switzerland, France, and the UK (spoiler alert: it didnt work in the UK). Strike 2 for not working in the other countries I listed above (all places I visited), and Strike 3 for not working in London where the company is allegedly based out of. All of the above accounts mostly for the DATA usage. The call usage was not used as much. however, If you are traveling alone like I was, Data will be your best friend out there. Verdict: Skip this product ENTIRELY. Now I'm sure Vodafone works with other carriers or other EU carriers, but if you are a US citizen, it could prove more trouble than it was worth. A Better Alternative: I got an Orange sim card out in Barcelona and it worked really well out there. similar speeds to the US while in Barcelona. Great service and reception in Venice and Rome. Switzerland was a dead zone (but that was mentioned when I bought the sim card so that gets a pass). Paris I had some issues with it for some reason so I ended up switching back to my T-Mobile regular card and kept T-Mobile for the duration of my trip. My Setup @ the time of trip (Sept-Oct 2018): Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (T-Mobile, but unlocked for trip)

It did not work well in Ireland because it had a U.K. number that made our bank think our phone had been stolen. The ad said it worked in Ireland and that may have been technically correct but the bank froze our credit accounts It was discarded

I was disappointed when installing, or trying to install this on my phone. I kept trying to follow the accompanying directions, but couldn't download the data it promised. Found out later it was because for some unknown (and unadvertised) reason, Vodaphone deleted a small amount from the initial allowance, so I kept getting a message that I didn't have enough credit in my account. This did not work well for me. I ended up buying another SIM from a competitor when I arrived at my destination in Europe. This was a waste of money for me.

The SIM card fried my wife's phone. My SIM partially worked but the instructions for configuring the account did not work. Seems to be some fly-by-night operation.

Product doesn't have support needed for seamless transition. The B4U go number wasn't able to help load the card. The data included was not enough to use the phone as GPS.

I activated before I left for Paris and was able to hit the ground running. I did not use as much data or minutes as I thought I would since there seemed to be wifi almost everywhere. I probably could have gotten by with a smaller package but then again for a few dollars more I never worried about running out. Used the international calling (vs Whatsapp) a few times for some business calls to landlines. Nothing is perfect but this was much cheaper than my US provider’s plan and much easier than going into a cell phone store or trying to find the right SIM/package in a convenience store

Bought this SIM card for a trip to Ireland. When I arrived, I followed the instructions to activate, but couldn’t get the phone to work. Call Vodaphone and spent 1 hour with the agent. She said she was able to activate the card and the phone should work now. Was only able to receive texts from Votafone. No data, couldn’t make or receive calls and couldn’t make or receive texts. Tried to return for refund from Amazon but was rejected. Don’t waste your money on this product.

Do Not buy this if you want to call US numbers. The reviews that say you can are lies. Got to Scotland on July 4 and went immediately to a Vodafone store. The sales rep told me that I could have bought a sim from him to call the US for 5 BPS. This sim and the packages were NOT designed to call home, but to call "local" while you are in a country on the list.
