I was told lower priced detectors dont scan all the frequencies. is this true? does this one scan all ? or scan every 1000 intervals fo example?

With RF detection devices, you do get what you pay for. While less expensive detectors will certainly detect RF signals, they won't indicate what type of signal it is. The DD1207 will show you RF signals and what type of band or frequency it is. Keep in mind that with any bug detection device, you will need to be very diligent in your search and be prepared to disassemble any device that is emitting RF that shouldn't be. These RF detectors do not disable bugs; they simply get you close to the source. Think of it as a metal detector for signals. You will have to do your own digging to find the treasure.
