BMW 82292355519 M Performance Key Case

Fits my 2025 M440i xDrive Coupe key fob. Yes, it covers the alarm button a little, but that button can still be used if needed. It protects the key fob from scratches in the pocketor purse. The alcantara is amazing, and the small wrench fits perfectly as it is genuine BMW. Highly recommend this product and the BMW Store.

While I do not think this was specifically made for the Gen 5 F80, F82, F83 cars, it fits our 2018 M4 FOB well. The Alcantara leather and carbon fiber add a nice touch to the FOB while protecting you from inadvertently opening the trunk of the car with the FOB in your pocket.

I bought this to protect me key fob, thinking that BMW OEM would have a good product for this. When I went to use the provided allen wrench, the wrench was too small to remove the screw to be able to install it onto my key. I couldn't even get it undone and the screw was completely stripped and unable to be unattached. Pretty disappointing for paying that much money.

This is well made and will work for its intended purpose of protecting your key fob. However you have to keep your other keys totally separate there is no way to attach a key ring loop despite some of the pictures that would suggest you could. There is a less expensive more generic - so no m performance colors/logo - BMW OEM part that will do the same thing (protect your key fob) and does have a means to add a key ring for your other essential keys like the one to your house. Returned this because I couldn’t add a key ring and bought the other one. I don’t want to carry my house key separately.

First, this appears to be OEM. The outside is mostly fabric, Alcantara, and it is a firm shell. It claims there is carbon fiber in this as well, which might be what the actual shell is made of but it’s difficult to see. Only the “M Performance” logo appears to be printed on a carbon fiber weave, but there’s no way to tell if it’s real or not. The price is probably just a BMW tax. It’s made in China. It is stylish and looks good and will protect the key fob just fine. It does cover the buttons of the fob completely, but because it uses a thin post that goes through the key fob where you’d attach a key ring, you can simply rotate the fob out. It does approximately double the size of your key fob overall in terms of thickness, and it also makes the length and width of the fob significantly larger as the fob sort of tucks well inside the case. Decent for protection, but consumes a lot more space in the pocket. However, three sides of it are still exposed, even if recessed inside the case, so if it’s in a pocket with other items, those sides can easily still get scratched. Still, I like the style of it. Installation involves using the provided Allen wrench/hex wrench to unscrew the screw that connects with the post on the other side. It also holds down a shiny aluminum-look washer. The screw is sort of electric blue. Both pieces are small and easily lost, so I’d recommend installing your fob while sitting on a flat work surface if/when you drop these small parts (ask me how I know). So installation isn’t hard, but it can be a bit fiddly. Mine did not include any sort of extension to permit the attachment of a strap or cord to the key fob case to permit addition of a key ring and more keys, but I tend to prefer to keep car fobs separate from other keys in my pocket due to the risk of scratching them.
