Beautiful ukulele
This is my first uke ever. I've been playing it for over a month now. I LOVE IT! It looks beautiful and produces a melodious sound. I tuned it with the help of an app. (Tip- The ukulele is hella out of tune when you recieve it, so the frequencies won't even show on the app, you gotta keep tuning until you get to the right frequency. Took me around an hour to tune it. After that you won't have to tune it often.) The uke is lightweight and can be easily played standing up (it also has a hook for belt). Get a bag to keep it dust free! I got the Mexa Ukelele bag and it fits perfectly. Overall, I LOVE this ukulele! I have no regrets and I highly recommend it esp. for beginners!

Great sound.
Worth the cost. I had first bought a concert satin finish Kala as I was sceptical of buying a Makala. While it looked great the sound wasn't as clear. This instrument is definitely great. especially for the price. Go for it. The only cons are: the tuners are okaish. The plastic ring looks a bit shabby.

Well crafted instrument.
As a beginner you want to play Ukulele this is the best you can get for the price. Build quality is phenomenal. Great sound and comfort. Setup nicely. If you are unsure about spending 1k extra for this and thinking of buying those Juarez and kadence trust me on this. That 1k will make a lot of difference. It's a Kala instrument. Even for it's beginner range the build quality, intonation and setup is impeccable. For a beginne chances are playing on substandard instrument you'll hurt yor fingers and give up. If you eventually do give up this won't hurt your fingers and the learning will be less painful. It's a great instrument and it'll last you a long time. Great resale value too.
