Grub Scouts Sprinkler

We ordered this product for my 16 month old son as an outdoor water toy. We've used this several times now and have been very happy with what it....He really enjoys playing in it and we have been very happy with its durability. It does have a constant flow from the water source, so there is no variation in the height of the water spray (unless you adjust the water pressure at the source). While this may be an issue with older children, it wasn't an issue for my son. I actually saw it as a positive because the water level didn't change suddenly and surprise/scare him. The individual 'grubs' are made out of a rubbery, plastic material and are very durable. My son has already bent, yanked, stepped on, etc. them and they haven't come loose and bounce right back up. I will say that the connector piece is very durable. We have had other sprinklers with cheaper connector pieces, so when you connect to the hose there is a lot of spray that is lost where the hose connects to the sprinkler. This is not an issue with this toy and it is easy to connect/disconnect. Overall this is a good sprinkler toy and will be very durable for use for several summers.

I'm not too impressed with this sprinkler. Most sprinklers move and so I thought this one might at least wave around. It doesn't; just shoots out water and not very high. Of course though having a 4 year old and a 2 year old, they don't care.

For little kids (~18 months old), this sprinkler was perfect. Depending on how much water pressure you use, you can set it for very big spray or just a little bit. For little kids, the predictable streams of water was better than some wild whirly thing (which we also have), because the had fun just using cups to catch the water, and they could dance in and out of the water and not be surprised by a sudden blast of spray. Great for us, but I could see how older kids might want something more interesting. Very cute and durable! We also used it to water the garden :)

This is super cute...as most Melissa & Doug things are! It's easy to attach and puts out a good amount of water. The one thing that would make this better is if the worms "squiggled" and shot water in various directions, so it would be less predictable. The water streams in the same direction the whole time unless you move it to a new location. I like my kids to have fun and water the yard simultaneously. Good product though!

I have no issues at all with water pressure. I have other yard sprinklers that work perfectly. My wife thought this was cute for the kids, but we should have stuck with our regular sprinkler, which is perfectly suited for kids. The water barely comes out. We got maybe 6" of water height. I returned it.

My two year old thought it was cute, but my 4 year old and 7 year olds thought it was boring. Maybe if the water pressure at my house were better, the sprays coming out of the sprinkler would have gotten over a foot off the grubs.

This sprinkler is cute and fun. I got it based on past reviews that all seem to be true. The worms are soft and dont break or hurt their little feet when stepped on. Based on how high you turn on your water pressure, thats how high the sprinkler will go, i would say it could hit about 5 feet high and goes out pretty far. Nothing too fancy about this, just a simple fun, good quality sprinkler for the right price.

Bought this for my three grandsons, ages 5 and twins 9 months, for use this summer. My oldest grandson was excited to receive it after he found out how he will be able to use it. The twins will have to wait for awhile. Even though we haven' t used it yet, I always have good results with anything that carries the Melissa & Doug name and am sure this will not disappoint. It looks like the description given and it's a good size. It was completely bubble wrapped and came in great shape. Also, the "little grubs" seem smooth and rubbery so it should not hurt anyone who may come in contact with it while in use. Keep up the good work Melissa & Doug!!!

Product seemed used and was defective. It did not connect to the hose properly. It would have been cute if it worked properly.

ok but I would not buy another one.
