Bought for the parents
We bought this xbox for my parents when lockdown started. They are 75 and have played it every day. It passes the time for them. My husband needed to give them a bit of a hand setting it up over the phone, and how to work the controllers etc. as I don't think it came with much information, but wasn't really an issue. The company who suppied it were excellent, and before delivery called my mum to see if it was ok to swap one of the white controllers for black (which was no problem). It arrived in good time, and at that point was one of the last we had seen that didn't have a 4 week lead time. They are hammering the golf and formula 1 games. Really good buy.

A great bundle at a good price
Upgrading my old Xbox One to the S model. The controllers alone would cost best part of £80+ sourced elsewhere. Red Dead 2 is also £49 most everywhere. So the Console alone nets out to just £99 This newer S model is half the size of the original and quieter too. One observation though. The Controller feels more “plasticky “ than the original Xbox One controllers. They don’t feel as robust as the older ones That being said, if you want a console and two controllers plus a tip top game for £229 then this is a very good deal

Quality product at a good price! Switched over from ps4!
Amazing deal where I got the Xbox One S + two controllers AND Red Dead Redemption 2 for only £229. Couldn't find a better offer anywhere in the market. I can't say much about it as there's tonnes of YouTube videos about it but go see the difference in gameplays and the actual interface and you'll realise why I switched over from PS4. It truly is a better device in every way! Fast delivery so would definitely recommend this product and seller to others!

Really good product - when buying from amazon - watch out
There is no way I’m going to write a full review of this device - just keep in mind, it’s a good product to get. Works with most 360 games, fast game play really good graphics. Read a professional review if you want some advice on which version to buy. Just keep this main point in mind when buying from amazon!! Your warranty will need updating. Register this device with Microsoft online and check that your warranty is the right date. Microsoft do this all the time, when they ship laptops etc to places like amazon, they start the warranty, however this should be updated to your sold date from amazon. Also, controllers are not automatically rechargeable - they come with double A batteries which give you about 12 hours of play. Buy the recharge pack direct form Microsoft 20£ its a lot better than swapping out every few days

Back in the Game
This X Box One S is far more compact than the previous 360 and doesn't have a massive external power unit. It is also backwards compatible so will play all previous versions of X Box discs from the original to 360. Be prepared for a lot of updates and downloads before it is ready to play. I have 70MByte/s broadband and it still took a couple of hours to do all the updates. I also bought a remote control as the controller, which are fine for games, are really clunky for DVD's and passcode entry. At last I can play the Halo 5 game I bought ages ago!

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM MICROSOFT
Do not buy an Xbox or anything from Xbox!! Microsoft have THE worst customer service imaginable (check trust pilot reviews if you don’t believe me.. 90% are poor..) I had a free month of ‘Xbox game pass’ upon purchasing the product and did not realise that ‘recurrent billing’ was turned on, incurring £24 of charges over 3 months for something I never used or was not aware of. When I tried to claim the money back their customer service was simply abysmal. I had to speak to 7 people, 2 of which hung up on me, 1 promised to call back but never did. If any payment issues occur Microsoft will wash their hands of you and will not correct any mispayments, unless within 28 days. No matter how polite their customer service representatives may seem, they are all utterly useless. Sadly all they care about is your money and do not value you as a customer. They may make you feel powerless but as a customer YOU HAVE POWER. By not purchasing their products you will make them learn this sort of conduct is not acceptable. I would recommend not buying their products until they fix this.

Great piece of technology
I bought xbox just for playing games from time to time. After just few hours I realized that Xbox has a potential to be my main media device at home. Apps like Netflix or nowtv works much faster on xbox than their smart TV versions, has no problems with Internet connection at all. Easy to set-up.

Decent console but it is always updating
Can't fault it for playing games and watching streaming TV… once it has booted up. As somebody who doesn't leave the console switched on overnight, I find that I am constantly hit with "you must update the OS or stay offline" when I switch it on, and the claim that it will only take "a few minutes" is laughable. When you just want to watch a Netflix show or similar, this is incredibly frustrating, as it can take longer to apply the system update than to watch the show! I can only assume that the forced updates are a way to defend against remote exploits, but right now the inconvenience is not proportional to the threat. But as I say, once it does eventually let you access your games and apps, I can't fault it. The controllers do eat through batteries surprisingly fast but using rechargeables is an easy fix.
