Shrinkage is real!!!
I've never written a review before but in this case I felt it might help others. The table runner and placemats are of good quality/thickness and the Ladder red is as shown in the photos, but the shrinkage after washing is noteworthy. After a hand wash cycle in my machine, the runner went from 72 x 13 to 68 x 12.5 and the placemats went from 18 x 13 to 17 x 12.5. This is after pulling to stretch them when damp. I can't imagine what might happen if I put them in the dryer. The color faded ever so slightly (a good thing for me) and they definitely needed ironing. Unfortunately the center crease from folding for shipping did not come out even when ironing them while still a little damp. I’m sure it will come out in time. They were appropriately priced in my opinion, so I am keeping them.

The size and set.
I thought I was ordering a set with 6 placemats (my fault) but how many dining room tables have only four chairs? Also, the runner is way too short! The set is pretty but cheap looking. Now I can’t match the placemats to get a set of 6 and I am not going to order a whole new set. Is there any way to get two more placemats?
