Ace Martial Arts Supply Crossbow String Replacement and Caps (50, 80, 150 180 LB)

This crossbow is a good starter bow for someone who has never used one. Many years ago I was into Archery and enjoyed it very much. This crossbow has just the amount of power (80lbs) to put a bolt into a tree at a good distance. There is only one item that did not work well and that is the arrows (bolts). Every arrow that I shot into a tree the tail fins would break off. My suggestion would be to buy a more expensive arrow for the 80 pound bow if you don't want to be constantly ordering the cheaper arrows.

For the record at this price you cannot expect a lifetimes use out of it as it frays quickly but then again at this price you can buy a new one on a regular basis. It lost a star due to it starting to fray after the first use but it is cheap and more powerful than the original 50# string that came with the crossbow so I will still give it 4 stars and order more as I need to and just keep a spare on hand. To be fair I think the action on the bow itself lends to the fraying so I would still gladly recommend this to anyone with a pistol type crossbow - just remember to order a spare.
