REACHER Small Dimmable LED Digital Alarm Clock with USB Charger

My quest for the perfect alarm clock continues but this one has big wins. For starters this is the most beautiful red LED display, crystal clear numbers, large 1" size numbers are easy to read with "weak" eyes at 2am but OMG the dim control is SUPERB. Best control I have seen, from completely off to ever-so-dim, you WILL find the perfect night-time setting for you. And if you like BRIGHT, you can see the time from across the house in the daylight if that's your preference. SUPERB LED display and brightness control. IMO, the top items that make or break a good bed-side alarm. Sized very well for nightstand; not too big or too small. Alarm volume setting is almost just as good as display but would be best if it went to zero dB. Some people sleep lightly with no white noise so going lower in volume could be best. CONS Here's a double-bad. The "feet pads" are inadequate due to the lightweight design of the clock - slides around on night stand. But when I went to install some thicker, "stickier" pads I noticed that the means by which snooze works are 2 switch buttons ON THE BOTTOM of the clock. So you push down on the top of the clock to activate snooze switches on the bottom. This is a poor design. Adding better anti-slips pads to the bottom would override the snooze. And the 2 snooze switches are right where the pads would go. A re-design could really improve this. Setting the clock and alarm is not really "hard" per-se but a clunky process in the way you multi-click to see/change hour and minute. It also flashes between hour and minute. This is distracting and actually blurs the numbers. Why do that guys? That's just silly. Take a time-honored design pointer from $5 alarm clocks of the past and simplify things -push "alarm" to see the alarm set time. Release to go back to time. Push and hold "alarm" to see alarm time and while holding push hour or minute to set. Done. Easy. No goofy flashing and flickering. The alarm ON/OFF button should be the FIRST BUTTON in the row, closest to the edge of the clock (and if you really want to get it right) have it stick out further than the others. We "feel" for that button in the dark when we're sleepy. Make is easy on us! Look, I see why you put the buttons on the back. It makes for a "cleaner" looking design. But buttons on top would be much more practical. A row behind a snooze bar...again, time honored design. And again, snooze buttons working on top gives room on bottom for support. The 5V DC is growing on me. You certainly kept the cost and weight down by ditching the 110 AC power supply with an AC cord. I think I can get use to it. Consider a dual-alarm model. To end on a positive note, OMG THAT DISPLAY!! Seriously, best-display-and brightness control-EVER. And the clock speed when it changes each minute is lightning-fast. In all, if the clock time holds true over the course of days and weeks (and I've seen a few reviews complaining about this) this alarm clock will be the best and well-worth the money that I have purchased.

I love this little alarm clock! And customer service was fantastic. The clock goes from very bright to fully dimmable (no red light showing at all) with an easy slide switch, so it's great for our baby's room (no more putting a wash cloth over the clock to hide the light!) I gave it a 4 star only because when the clock first arrived, I plugged it in without batteries - and it didn't keep time and the alarm kept turning itself on every 12 hours - but I contacted customer service for a return and they were super helpful. She told me she would gladly take the return, even though it had been months since I bought it (I just hadn't gotten around to using the clock right after I purchased it) - but she asked me to first try to install the battery. My thinking was that it should work without the battery, but to humor her, I put a battery in, plugged it back in, then took the battery out. I don't know why, but it started working perfectly (it's been a few weeks now). I didn't contact customer service again since it started to work, but she emailed me a week later to check in and ask if it was working or if I wanted to return it. Great follow-up. I love tha the snooze "button" is just touching the top anywhere. I would probably prefer the alarm on/off button to be a slide switch instead of a push button (I accidentally set it to "on" in the dark one time - but now I just remember to check to see if the alarm symbol is lit up). Otherwise, very easy to use. Overall great clock, great price, great customer service.

I have trouble sleeping if there is any kind of light or glow in my room at night. I wanted a bedside clock that I could see how much longer I have to sleep without looking at my cellphone and waking myself up completely by the bright screen of my cellphone. I tried to other clocks before this one, and they were horrible.....both advertised that they were dimmable.....and they were......BUT they both had white digits and the white numbers created a glow on my bedside table that illuminated the entire corner of the room. Plus, one did not dim enough and the other wouldn't stay dimmed and would brighten on it's own in the middle of the night. I was hesitant to try this little alarm clock after two previous fails, but I didn't to chance it and am I glad I did! Nothing fancy about this little clock. It has large enough digits and these are RED and DO NOT create any type of glow on my bedside table or within the room. This clock is very user friendly to set both the time and the alarm and has a knob for the loudness of the alarm and the dimmer. I used it for the first time last night and it was EXACTLY what I wanted!!! I turned the dial to the bare minimum brightness. It was just enough for me to glance and see how much time I had to sleep before the alarm. There was NO glow on my tabletop and the dimmer switch held the position I set it at. Also it has an extra USB port in the back that I can plug my phone in at bedtime and have it fully charged when I wake up 6 hours later. Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!!

Update #2: the first two clocks have been working great so we decided to get another for another person in this house. So far it is keeping time great which is the most important thing. I set it to my cell phone and it has kept perfect time ever since. This one, surprisingly is different than the pictures though. There is a dial on the back for the brightness adjustment and the alarm adjustment, instead of the slider shown in the photos. So this one is slightly different than our previous 2 purchases. I would have preferred the slider. It would be easier to use the slider in the dark on the alarm and not turn it to the loudest volume by accident. I took off one star from my original review because of this difference, and that it is different from the ad photos and our first two purchases. Update #1: my child needs a new alarm clock and so I just purchased another one of these. It keeps perfect time and is fully adjustable for brightness or dimness. I have been super pleased with my purchase. I plan to purchase a third and fourth if the next one is as good as the first. Then everyone in the house will have one. Original Review: I have had this for a few weeks now, waiting to write a review until I saw how it performed. It is keeping accurate time, I have been checking it daily with my phone. I needed a small alarm clock that kept time well and was able to be quite dim. I personally would like the numbers a bit smaller, but otherwise, it met all my reqiurements. I am pleased with my purchase.

I seldom write reviews but this product is truly worthy of one! When my simple alarm clock of over 30 years finally broke I was very picky as to what would replace it. I am one to do lots of research and evaluate reviews before purchasing and initially decided on another, more expensive alarm clock with more features. This product proved to be disappointing so I decided to focus on what I had to begin with – a practical, straight-forward, simple alarm clock. It is evident that the folks at Reacher responded to the feedback they had received on earlier models of this clock because this one has been refined to perfection! I am hard-pressed to find even a constructive criticism of this product. They thought of everything! (And listened to what people wanted). It is lightweight, a nice compact size, and of quality construction. The numbers are large, clear and easy to read from across the room (and both 12 and 24 hour time is an option). An adjustable dimmer switch was a must for me and this one is “infinitely adjustable” instead of just a “hi” and “low” setting. I saw a user review complaining that their switch adjusted from bright to very bright. This is not the case (at least for me). Mine adjusts from completely dark at the low end to brighter than I would prefer at the high end. I have it set at about 75% brightness. Likewise, the volume for the alarm is adjustable from soft to loud and I have mine set at about 75% volume. The alarm is easy to adjust and set and after having done it several times (I change my alarm time regularly) I can easily do it by touch without even having to look at the buttons. The alarm is effortlessly silenced (snooze) by pressing anywhere on the top of the unit (which depresses the small “foot pad” buttons on the bottom of the unit). The snooze is for 10 minutes and repeats several times (I believe 10 times but I have never cycled it that many times). To turn off the alarm after snoozing, simply press any button on the back (which retains the alarm for the next day). This alarm clock also has a battery back-up to retain the time and alarm in the event of a power outage (not to power it as a portable clock.) and an extra USB outlet to charge a mobile device. I have tested both of these features and they work as designed. This is a very straight-forward, intuitive clock to use and instructions are not even really necessary. I have been using this product for about two months now and it has been performing flawlessly. This is a great value for the price and I would highly recommend purchasing this alarm clock!

Works great. Both the sound and light feature have adjustable brightness and volume which is great!

Thanks, Reacher! We loved this clock! My girls have had it in their room and use the alarm each school morning. I love the adjustable brightness, and it’s easy to set the time and use. Unfortunately about 5 months after purchase somehow the frame of the clock shifted and doesn’t allow for the buttons to be pressed anymore. With the buttons stuck it has shut down. We’ve tried changing batteries, changing outlets, but it’s definitely a button issue. All posterior buttons are firm in place. I’m disappointed because it should last longer than 5 months. My girls are not toddlers and have been careful and responsible with its use. I wish I could return and replace to see if this was a fluke or a lemon, because otherwise we’ve loved the clock.

we cut the cord with cable recently and needed a clock to go underneath our flat-screen. customizing the dimmer makes it where it doesn't distract us while watching a movie or show. only thing, is that the cord is closer to a yardstick rather than the 59 inches that i've read but it still works for us.

Light dimmer is the key to purchase and it good quality.

I really wanted a small clock that was easy to use and had a completely dimmable switch. You don't have different settings for brightness like many other clocks. This one has a wheel that you can turn to either completely dim or make as bright as you want. This is super easy to either set the time or dim the clock. Would highly recommend it.

This is a nicely designed alarm clock which doesn't take up much space but is easily visible. Set-up is simple and the brightness and volume controls provide handy and effective adjustments. Time-keeping appears to be excellent.
