I don't use this often or need to. Personally eat well, eat fiber rich and exercise. But when I'm slowed down, and it's longer than I'd like (my meds can constipate me, so can a lot of stress), Biscodyl, taken before I go to bed, will typically provide a movement first thing in the morning, or just after i begin moving around. Never hits me later in the day, or out of the blue. Once, it woke me with need to evacuate about 5AM. It was welcome, and that, was that. NEVER make a stimulant laxative a habit. Addiction can occur.

2nd purchase of this item, order received 12/2017 with an expiration of 05/2020 - This works just like the name brand but much cheaper. I suggest first trying one tablet at bedtime before using two or three.

UPDATE_EDIT: 2016_ i buy this on a regular basis- and discovered for just a little more money u can buy a lot more of these_ i'll include links UPDATE-- May 7, 2016_ if i bought the name brand Dulcolax_ with the same active ingredient of bisacodyl_ this would cost $200 instead of $9-$10 the bottle i bought on April 2016 has a 'use by' date of August 2018_ 2 1/3 year shelf life. so, don't have to worry about expiring. i've been buying this generic version from Amazon for 10 years and never had a problem. this is a stimulant laxative_ you may need to take a stool softener too. i recommend generic colace (docusate sodium). i have bought the kirkland brand in bottles of 400 and a generic bottle of 1,000 by Ready InCase_ looking @ the label i discovered both brands are distributed by the same company_PL Developments, out of Westbury NY__if U buy 1,000 of name brand-could cost $200 instead of $20 for generic Kirkland Signature Stool Softener Docusate Sodium 100 mg, 400 Softgels/Bottle Gericare Stool Softener Docusate Sodium 1000 Softgels, Compares to Colace, 100 mg each (i used senna laxatives b4 trying these bisacodyl tablets_ i find that these work better than the senna and i use less tablets than i did with the senna_ that's my experience- but we're all a bit different aren't we? the 'use by' date is 12-2014, so there's plenty of time to use all 1,000 pills- i have to take them every day to help with constipation from meds i take. i would recommend) i highly recommend you try these generics and save yourself $100's of dollars. i need to take stimulant laxatives on a daily basis due to side effects from medication- i found that these worked better than the senna based stimulants and i didn't need to take as many as i did with the senna. .every body is different and every body takes different meds and has different diets---but it did work for me. it's always best 2 check with doctor i hope some of what i shared was helpful_ Thanks

Are you full of crap? Well, this will probably help with that. My doctor, being the loving pill-pusher that she is, put me on a crapload of narcotics and, as a result, for days I wasn't able to drop the kids off at the pool. I usually poop twice a day and, the good lord knows, if I can't poop, I'm in a pretty crappy mood. So, I took this stuff and, the first day, it did nothing. The second day, I took two... and it didn't work. The third day, I took three and I can tell you that I sure wished I had stopped at 2 1/2 because I thought I was going to crap myself to death. But boy howdy, let me tell you... any time I take that pain medicine now, I take one of these with it and one the next morning and I'm pooping just like normal :)

Good value for the price if you need to buy this laxative...can be very expensive in drugstores.

Don't buy any thing else these are the perfect pill.I have tried about 7 kinds and they work for about 3 days then they stop working but I have been using these for about 3 weeks and they still work great.I only need to take 1 pill otherwise I get to loose.I am on a lot of meds and that is why I think I need daily

I started to use this because a pharmacist recommended it. It does the job immediately and predictably. Surgeons have recommended using it before certain surgeries. It has no side effects for me and is totally reasonably priced.
