Great structure and selection of extracts
I'm an English teacher and tutor who works at state schools. This textbook is the what schools buy in. With the new GCSE spec, and the lack of controlled assessments, there is much more pressure for pupils to be able to develop strong reading and writing skills they can utilise in exam conditions. Since this is approved by AQA, you can be sure that the extracts are of the right type and quality. This is the strength of the book and why I use it in tuition. However, don't hope too much for help with the writing questions: here the textbook is very limited and the amount of guidance, compared with the Reading assessment objectives, is disproportionately small. You'll definitely need a teacher's assistance there.
