Has anyone had the experience where you can hardly hear using this? Brand new but cannot use

The Adscope 618 is a professional stethoscope size optimized for pediatric patient applications. Its patient friendly Adimals design can help put the smallest patients at ease during the physical exam. Each Adscope is benched on a test fixture to ensure a reliable acoustic pathway. The Adscope 618, like many of our Adscopes employs AFD (Adjustable Frequency Design) technology. Altering the pressure applied to the chestpiece “tunes” the frequency – light pressure for lower frequencies, firmer pressure for higher frequencies. Perfecting the technique takes a bit of practice. The most common cause of reduced acoustic performance is poor seal at the ears. To ensure optimal performance, please note the following: Orient the headset with the eartips pointing FORWARD towards the bridge of the nose. (many first -time users wear the headset backward which greatly impedes acoustic transmission to the inner ear) Ensure you are using optimally sized eartips. The scope comes with two sizes. Small are mounted on the scope. A larger pair are also included. The eartips should be snug but comfortable. Spring tension: Is preset for the “average consumer” but you may need to increase or decrease tension to ensure a snug aural fit. Following these simple techniques should ensure optimal performance of your Adscope 618.

Does this stethoscope work for neonates?

Thank you for your question. Although the 618 Adimals is optimized for pediatric patients it will work on newborns as well.

hello. Is this stethascope good for all ages? Also is the white one white or clear? Thanks.

This is definitely a pediatric stethoscope, not all ages.I carry both a pediatric and normal/ adult stethoscope in my bag. My stethoscope is a pale pink not white or clear.

Does this item have a plasticy smell upon opening the package? (PVC often has a strong smell)

I really didnt notice any smell with mine.

Top tier tool for my work. Amazing with kids

Been with this since Feb 2023, saw a colleague with it. I was sceptical that being too fancy, it may not be great with heart sounds and murmurs. I tried it out and loved it. Sound was perfect. The faces became a much needed added incentive. Kids love it esp the panda face. Will totally recommend.
