Buy How to Stop Worrying and Start Living: Time-Tested Methods for Conquering Worry by Carnegie, Dale (ISBN: 9788175993952) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Does what it states on the cover - Having read 'How to win friends and influence people' by Dale Carnegie, I anticipated that any other books by the author would be money well spent, and this book did not disappoint. My only reservation about purchasing this book was that there might be alot of overlap between it and the aforementioned title however these concerns proved to be unfounded. There is lots of fresh material in this book and if you enjoyed 'How to win friends and influence people', you will definitely benefit from this book. If you're considering buying a Dale Carnegie title for the first time then you are in for a treat! It basically does what it says on the tin: it teaches you how to stop worrying and start living. It really is as simple as that and as you read through, you will find that alot of the suggestions and principles aren't rocket science, indeed you may already be familiar with some of them, but as Dale emphasises, we forget with astonishing rapidity. This isn't a book you should read once and put it away, it should be a guide to a new way of living, a useful reference tool. It will require persistence and daily application but it's a small price to pay for a better, less stressful life. The magic isn't in the book itself but in the reader putting the principles into action and getting results. One of the things I enjoy about Dale Carnegie' writing is that he often provides examples, anecdotes and snippets of advice, not only from successful people (presidents, philosophers, successful businessmen and so forth-many of whom he has personally interviewed); but he also provides examples from people in everyday life, many of whom have attended one of his courses. Some of the stories are fascinating and will really inspire you. Another aspect that I apprecite is the summary at the end of each chapter and each section of the book, of the key principles discussed. They don't compensate for reading the chapters themselves but they're a useful reminder. The author is clearly well read and has spent most of his life researching and teaching in the areas which he writes about. Not only has he taught others but his students have taught him as well, which is demonstrated by the many examples of their personal results, which have all been brought together in this one book. I recommend this book without reservation, and also 'How to win friends and influence people.' I've also recently purchased 'How to enjoy your life and your job' but that book extracts heavily from 'How to win friends and influence people' and includes a section from 'How to stop worrying and start living' so it's probably not worth buying if you already own those two titles. Review: Essential reading! - A book full of wisdom and good, practical advice on how to deal with worry. Essential reading for these stressful times. Whilst written a long time ago, the advice given is as relevant today as it was when originally written.

One of the only books that made a big difference and keeps doing so
I came across this book many months ago, at a very stressful time of my life when I was suffering from anxiety and lots of worries. I remember I Googled the topic and came across a PDF eBook version of the book online and started reading it immediately. They do say sometimes the best things in life are free! very true! I have since gone to buy the book of-course. Reading the book helped me a lot and made massive impact in my way back to peaceful being. Just reading the first two chapters was such a revelation, I was reading and re-reading it every day and it helped me a lot to rid myself from various daily worries! I am ever so grateful to have come across this book and of all the books I have read I can say this one has had the most impact. There are various excerpts and quotation from the book that I keep in my iPhone and remind myself on daily basis and I can say it has made a difference! What makes the book very powerful for me and sets it apart from many other self-help books is all the real life stories. Dales Carnegie has literally interviewed 100's of people from prominent leaders and successful business people to ordinary people. He also draws insight and quotations from philosophers, leaders, and religions of all time. For me this makes the insights very believable and I think - even after all these years - Dale Carnegie and this book is the outmost authority on the topic of worry. Furthermore the writing is deeply sincere, concise and to the point, written in colourful and moving way. When I read the book I can feel that the writer has really put his heart and soul into this. The book is about 30 years old but I don't think there are any other books out there that come close to the level of knowledge and authority on this topic that you will find in this book. It also reenforces the timeless and universal origins of worry and how people overcome it - something that hasn't really changed much throughout time. I know one thing for sure now and that is that happiness is from within and the one thing that stops feeling of happiness, most than everything else, is worry and fear!

Strange format
What's written in the book is great, but the actual book is so tiny it's almost unreadable. I've photographed it next to a normal paperback bought at the same time and you can barely read the back notes. Great book, but buy it in a different edition.

Consiglio vivamente di leggere questo classico di Dale Carnegie. Racchiude delle piccole strategie che possono essere utili nella vita di tutti i giorni e aiuta a spostare con l'esercizio il focus sulle cose che davvero contano nella propria vita.

This book, in the inner cover it has a copyright of '1944'. As of today this book is 71 Years old. That's crazy... None the less, 90 pages in, I have underlined quite a bit of the book as I make my way through it. I am using "How to stop worrying and start living" as a work book like the author suggested. Most of the advice, is golden if you don't get too caught up in the context. And it seems that some particular advice is re-iterated in another way, to add emphasis. Then on top of this, the author interviewed a ton of people.. and from today's point of view, some of the individuals that the author talked to.. are markers in history. They all did something profound. If your like myself, curious, and trying to improve your lot in life.. especially in today's climate. Everywhere you turn there is a fear monger.. from our own government to, the local associated press. They are trying to sell you "fear" by the truck loads.. Nothing wrong with being informed of the dangers that exist, but it's also very good to have the context of the situation, some hard numbers to go by. Other wise your imagination just runs off with you. And quite frankly I think that's the whole point. What's that famous quote by Rahm Emanuel. "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." Source: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/r/rahm_emanuel.html Quote basically is getting at the fact, that you don't think at all when your worrying.. your more likely to take action in the heat of the moment and do something stupid, or do something stupid and help someone else out.. Anyways, the book offers a lot of sound basic advice. So if your like me and you didn't get a well grounded common sense type of upbringing, no guidance really at all.. because your parents didn't know any better.. and public school is definitely the kind of place you don't get a well grounded common sense education.. this book is worth checking out. Because the truly smart person knows, that there is always something around the next corner, as far as little nuggets of wisdom go. Always something worth learning. Always ways to improve your odds. I'll leave this review with one of my favorite quotes from the book: 'I keep six honest serving-men (They taught me all I knew); Their names are What and Why and When And How and Where and Who.' -Rudyard kipling If you find yourself overwhelmed by worry..your mind tends to drift toward the negatives too much. Check this out. Definitely worth the money.

I loved this book! "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" offers practical and insightful advice on how to manage and overcome worry in our lives. The author, Dale Carnegie, presents a wide range of strategies and techniques that are easy to understand and apply, regardless of your background or situation. One of the things I appreciated most about this book was how it opened my eyes to different ways of looking at things and helped me let go of worries that were beyond my control. By focusing on what we can do instead of what we can't, we can reduce stress and anxiety and live a more fulfilling life. The book is full of inspiring examples and stories of people who have successfully overcome worry and achieved great things. Overall, I highly recommend "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" to anyone who wants to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Whether you're dealing with a specific problem or just want to feel more calm and centered in your daily life, this book has something to offer. It's a timeless classic that deserves a place on everyone's bookshelf!
