Amazon Basics Retractable Ballpoint Pens, Smooth Writing, Blue, 12-Pack

I will admit - I was skeptical. As a certified pen snob - I have my “Princess Picks for Perfect Pens” but those are all quite pricey. Low on funds, I decided to try these Amazon Basics Pens - despite many just bizarre negative reviews. You folks who claim these broke on you - what exactly are you doing with these pens- driving them under your SUV? I clicked the retracting mechanism 100x and it did not break. I wrote with it for over an hour taking notes on a Zoom and it did not run out of ink halfway down the page. I question the people writing such peculiar negative reviews. These pens perform just as well as my favorite brand and they are so affordable at a fraction of the cost. No bleed-thru on the pages and it has dark, smooth, high quality blue ink - critical for legal work. I love that these do not have the rubber gripper affecting nearly every pen in existence now because those hurt my hands and attract lint. Gross. Whereas these Amazon Basics Pens are smooth, easy to hold and have excellent longevity with none of them breaking inexplicably - as reported by other customers. Absolutely I recommend these pens and will definitely buy them again. So glad I took the chance on the fantastic budget price for the quantity because they are great household pens and good for work too! Great product, Amazon!

I normally wouldnt review a basic product like a simple pen, but I'm gonna take a minute to do so for these. I am very picky with my pens, I need certain ones for my handwriting to be clean and legible, and these Amazon Basics pens are that. They are smoothe, have perfect sized ball/tip for my liking, the ink is smoothe and doesnt seem to smear easily, and they are just simply tough. They also allow me to write very small and still be legible, which is key for the inspection reports I fill out constantly. For the price, getting 12 pens for $12 ($1/each) is a great price for these. Not sure what else I can say, but out of all the pens I buy to try out and find a decent writing utensils, these are by far the best for the price. If you lose one, or someone walks off with it, your only out $1. The clips also seem tough, I have others break easily and I need the clip so my pen is always on my shirt for quick access as I won't pit it in my pocket where it will break. These are excellent pens, I recommend them 100% so if you need a reliable pen that writes great for a low price, here they are.

Wow, these pens are excellent! First of all, what a bargain for all the pens you get and what you pay for them! These pens write so nice, smooth and feels great in the hand (comfortable). I was surprised at how well they write which is nice and dark with no skipping or smudging. And I've been doing a lot of writing so far and the ink is still inking! Overall, these I'm very pleased with these pens! Will definitely purchase again!

If you love pens, especially colorful ones, you may want to give these Amazon-brand ones a try! For less than $8, you get an abundance of pens in an abundance of colors. But do keep in mind that you mostly get what you pay for. MINUSES: - You'll need to scribble these pens a bit to get them going...they don't begin to write right away. - Some of the pens may leak ink from the tips. - Many of the pens suffer from a lot of white space in the lines while writing. PLUSES: - Great color variety, and each color itself is quite vivid. - The yellow ink pen in this set is probably the boldest yellow pen out there! - Nice and smooth writing with no skipping. - Comfortable barrel with a soft coating that feels pleasant to the touch. Overall, I recommend these pens even if the actual performance of many them isn't so great. At least the core colors, such as the black, blue, and red ink pens, perform very well...it's mainly the fun/fashion colors that tend to be spotty. But with their retractable convenience, smoothness, comfort, and rainbow of ink colors, these pens are great for journaling, coloring, color-coding, or simply just the fun of writing in all different colors.

Absolutely my favorite pens to Bible journal and write with. So smooth and comfortable. I used to use Ubrand pens but they fell apart fast. These do not. The only thing I can say is they seem to run out of ink kinda fast or maybe I just use them alot so take that with a grain of salt. I'm on my second order within about two months but no complaints. I wish I could order the dark green, pink and purple ones by the box like you can the blue, red, and black. But till then I will order the multipack. Great pens!

Been there, done that with so many different brands of pens. Plastic, stainless, or combination trying to find a reliable pen that was comfortable to use. G2 were good, but gel never dries, water all but erases your work. Waterproof gels not much better. Other comfort writer ink pens stop writing, causing you to frantically scribble. Zebra stainless pens were good, but not that comfortable and if inverted too long, what a mess. Ink pens that look like gels were not much better with globs of ink, paper fiber clotting at end. I thought I would have to settle for a pen that was sub par or keep going into the bank to grab a new pen or two with each transaction, but no more! Amazon throws their hat into the world of writing instruments with a flick of their wrists. You know those white plastic barreled pens that many companies advertise with? Yep these are basically the same except Amazon Basics has a rubber grip feel to them, comfortable and light weight. Thought hmmm seems cheap, but wait, it actually starts to write quickly, no scribbling required. And wow, it writes real smooth. I was skeptical since the box of 12 was very light compared to others. But its really a nice pen, Im shocked. Its that easy to create a good economical pen, no fuss? Apparently it is and Amazon has them by the dozen at a great price. I cleaned out the pencil cup, even the new unused pens of old were tossed, yeah that bad and frustrating! So for the first few days I'm happy and will update once I go through a few. Thanks Amazon!!! Update: Amazon Basics ink pens are a disappointment. Beeb using for a couple of months, now replacing with another brand. Keep the pens upright in a pancil cup, but they lack ink at the start, even if they've been previously used. Clumping of ink on the tip is very annoying as well. Still writes smooth once the get going, but it takes a few seconds many times. The frantic scribbling is what is the worst and this turn out to be no better than the rest. Bummer. Really wanted to love this pen, but filing for seperation using another brand.
