Merrellโs best-selling trail shoe is reimagined to blend clean athletic design with functional running comfort to support an array of end-use capabilities. Review: Great shoe - Loving them so far. Typically I prefer zero drop minimalist type shoes but these are great all around. Fit is perfect/true, very comfortable for all day use (10k steps/day). Durability seems great like Merrell typically provides, I am interested in how long the rubber lasts and will update down the road. So far no complaints but they are squeaky loud when wet on certain floor types. They are meant for outdoors, tho I will say they didn't grip well on ice. Review: Go up at least half a size - I am in a unique position to talk about sizing because I bought the same shoe in both waterproof and non-waterproof versions. The waterproof was half a size bigger but felt similar to the smaller regular shoe. I seriously could have gone up a whole size, as the shoe is stiffer than the regular one and there isnโt as much room to insert my orthotic. Once I figured that out, I wore them with just the insole they come with and they were comfortable and kept my feet dry. My feet were warm and felt a little sweaty โ the shoes keep moisture in as well as out. I found they are less slippery than the regular shoe. I bought these for a great price โ they were on sale for less than half the price of other colors and sizes. Iโm not sure why. I think these will work out well as long as I wear them with regular socks (not hiking socks) and use a heel lift rather than the prescription orthotic. But I would recommend that people consider getting a whole size bigger if they need a special insole or are concerned about them feeling tight

The ultimate yard work shoe!
For most of my adult life, shoes for yard work and mowing were just an old pair of sneakers that had been replaced with something new. The thought of buying a new pair of expensive shoes dedicated specifically to yard work never even crossed my mind...until recently. I got tired of soaking wet feet every time I had to work in the yard before the morning dew had dried, or if I had to mow while part of the yard was still soggy. I finally decided to "splurge" on something dedicated to the purpose, and quite honestly, it was a great decision. These Merrell Nova 4 waterproof shoes have instantly become one of my favorite purchases. We've had 3 straight days of rain, but today is a beautiful, sunny Saturday. I was out this morning cleaning up the yard in spots where the standing water was literally coming up around the shoes and covering the toes. My feet and socks stayed 100% totally dry! And because I bought these in green, you can't even tell when they get stained from mowing, so they still look good if you have to run to Home Depot mid-project. I only have two suggestions: They do tend to run a bit narrow, so if you're even close to a wide fit, make sure you order wide. Makes a big difference in comfort. The other suggestion is to get elastic boot laces. It makes them hands-free slip-on. These are probably great shoes for hiking also, but they're stellar yard shoes!

Good shoes
I haven't tried these in wet conditions yet, but based on history they will probably be fairly waterproof. These are light which I needed. My only gripe with this company, as most, is that they don't make many, if any, extra wide sizes, or the colors are terrible, which I need to be comfortable. Merrell at least has "2E" which I can kind of tolerate, hopefully they will stretch.

Comfy! Noisy!
Very comfortable! They do make a sort of noise when you walk from the material they are made of. Sounds like stepping on a plastic bag. Update* 7 months later the NOISE has subsided but the shoes are no longer water resistant. Where the balls of your feet bend the front of the shoe has cracked on both pair. DO NOT BUY

Right balance between Trail shoes and typical sports shoes
Have been using these for few months now for routine use. Outsoles have very good grip for wet surfaces/trails. Midsoles are a bit on firmer side but have right amount of cushion - something I like in this pair more than my other road running shoes. Upper looks good with no unnecessary branding. Haven't tested the waterproofing part thoroughly but have got them wet few time and seems to be working as expected.
