Setup was straightforward. Since it records to the included memory card and doesn’t require WiFi or a subscription, I was able to start using it quickly. The motion detection feature is helpful because it records when activity happens instead of saving hours of empty footage. It also stays plugged into the wall like a normal charger, so there’s no need to worry about constantly recharging a battery. For basic home monitoring or keeping an eye on pets while away, it’s a simple and discreet option that doesn’t require complicated setup.

Picked this up for basic home monitoring and I like how straightforward it is. No WiFi setup, no apps, no monthly fees. Just pop in the card, power it up, and it records. That alone makes it way less of a headache than most security cams. Video quality is clear in good lighting and the wide angle covers more of the room than I expected. Motion detection works well for catching movement without filling the card with useless footage. Size is tiny too, easy to tuck on a shelf without drawing attention. If you want simple local recording without subscriptions or complicated setup, this is a solid little option.

I bought 3 of these to set up around the apartment. Motion detection? hardly! In Motion activation mode (laughable) It records in separate 2 min video files. If within that 2 min, it sees motion,. it will continue making 2 min videos. If no motion is detected after 2 min it stops recording. After that point, you can jump up and down in front of it flailing your arms around, and it will NOT wake up and start recording. The only thing that will make it wake up, is to flip a bright light on in a dim room, or the opposite, turning off a light darkening the room. Its a light detector,. not a motion detector. This is consistent with all 3 identical units. Using the "loop" recording mode is not very good either,. with the supplied 32 gig micro SD card It will only record about 2 and a half hours before it runs out of space and starts overwriting the 1st files. the manual says 32 GB is the largest supported size. so putting in a 64 GB micro SD will still get you the same recording time of 2 and a half hours. however I don't have one to test it with, and it probably wouldn't work anyways. Was really hoping it could record at least 8 hours while I'm at work. I will be returning these. In loop mode it records in separate 5 min video files. On the bright side, it does in fact record sound also. I didn't think it would.
