Have used this product for a few years. My hair turned mostly white when I was in my thirtys. It was ok because I had a young face. But in my old age (78)I everyone had dyed or grayed . I was looking so ordinary and decided to change my hair blue. I have never got so many compliments from men and women in my life. I have long hair and wear it up, my hair has remained soft and colorful. Worked for years to keep a grand color. I like sky blue the best. Yes it stains most things. How to cope. Where you don't want it to show on your skin wear gloves. Apply patrolium jelly around hair line to prevent getting blue on your skin. I wash my hair in the shower, and lightly dry so it isn't sopping wet. Then I apply the product to my hair, pin up to get it out of the way and leave it on for desired depth of color. Washing the product is easy done with a hand held sink sprayer or shower. Only get wash liquid from staining everything is to think ahead on how you want to spray hair until water is mostly clear. I rinse in my kitchen double white enameled sink with sprayer. I have the best results this way as I can contain rinse water. Very long lasting color after using it consistently. Tell me how often in old age does one get complements. People come up to me when I am out and about and remark how lovely my hair color is. What an ego boost.

I have loved this product for years. I first discovered it at Sally's and my hair was more of a magenta at the time so I was using that color. It kept my color fresh, I didn't have to dye it over and over again. So then when I decided to go blue I knew to get this product as well. I tried Overtone and I can't stand the smell of that stuff - it smells like I have toothpaste all over my hair for hours after washing it out. I like that this ion *does not* smell like toothpaste. The blue lasts longer then overtone as well. I can use it once a week where is with overtone it would wash out immediately when I showered again. I had my hair dyed blue one time and then for a year I kept the color fresh just using ion. people constantly thought I was redying my hair but I wasn't, I was just doing the ion. I would do it probably once every week, my hair is shorter so 1 tube would last me a couple months. I will keep buying this product, I swear by their product and recommend it to anyone I know with colored hair! I love being able to order it from Amazon!

I didn’t intend for my hair to be pink for this long—I bought a clarifying shampoo which took out about half of the pigment, and after a couple more washes I had it down to a pastel pink. However, no matter how many times I wash it, my hair is still a mix of pastel pink and green. I don’t know how to get this stuff out. It’s great for purple hair that you intend to keep—not so great for a temporary color.

I have bright blue hair and when it starts to fade this does a really good job at keeping it bright between salon visits. Plus it has a nice smell.
