This valve stem puller makes installing new valves quick and painless, and I really appreciate that it doesn’t scratch the wheel rims. The valve core remover works smoothly and feels solid, not flimsy like some cheaper branded tools. I’ve used it on car and motorcycle tyres and it handled both with no issues. The grip is comfortable, and the tools feel durable enough for repeated use. For the price, it’s excellent value and saves a lot of frustration compared to improvised methods. If you do your own tyre maintenance or work in the tyre industry or carry out your own occasional repairs, this is a very handy set to have in your toolbox.

The valve stem puller received not the usual metal object but a 12mm thick nylon item with a small diameter steel bar inserted to reinforce the structure and prevent bending, the 12mm diameter handle 160mm(6.25”) long with a 115mm(4.5”) 25mm wide section above, this wider section has four grooves across on each side to fit over different tyre rims to allow leverage to be applied during valve fitting, overall length of tool 275mm(10.8”). At the base of the handle a valve core remover fitted centrally within a 9mm diameter hole some 20mm in depth, at the top end of the puller a 25mm deep hollow U shape formed within the 25mm wide nylon to retain the steel valve core screw on holder used to pull the valve core through the wheel rim during fitting. The steel screw on holder 40mm long is fixed into the U shape using a steel pin which allows the holder to rotate 360 degrees, at the opposite end to the steel holder is a sprung ball bearing to fit into a recess at the end of the handle reinforcing bar to stop rotation. Whilst the steel central re-enforced tool strong enough to apply leverage for fitting of valve stems, it has problems, the retaining pin used within the U shape nylon to fit the steel holder only 3mm in diameter, this has to be a weak point during leverage as the U shape walls thin nylon just 4.5mm wide, the walls having just a hole drilled in to fit the small pin through, this then simply held in place by melted nylon. The sprung ball bearing used to stop rotation of the steel holder does not meet the cupped end of the steel rod allowing the holder to swing freely, the valve core remover 9mm diameter hole at the base may not be wide or deep enough to fit some valve stems into for valve core removal. The tool does work however the pin holding the stem puller definitely the weakest link and likely to fail, a reasonable tool seemingly lacking in durability due to an inadequate robust stem holder design.
