KomalC 18 Inch Leather Briefcase Laptop Messenger Bag for Men & Women

Received our KPL 18 inch Rustic Vintage Messenger bag two days before a trip. We bought it for our new laptop. First of all, We felt like Indiana Jones was going to accompany us on this trip. This bag looks like something he would have amongst his belongings! It is indeed very rustic looking. The leather quality is just great! It is well sewn and put together. The shoulder strap and handle are constructed nicely and seem like they will hold up over time.The buckles and straps are very secure.It has a zippered compartment inside as well as an open pouch. The back of the bag also has a zippered compartment. We had plenty of room for our 15" laptop as well as chargers for our cell phones and the power cable for the laptop. As far as leather smell goes, it was in the back seat of our car for hours of travel, right behind us, and we really did not notice a distinct odor filling our car. The main smell dissipated after airing it out from the time it arrived until we packed for travel two days later. It is leather. Leather has an odor when it is new. We used the lovely silk cover Komal sent to wrap the laptop in before we placed it into the messenger bag. It has a nice drawstring on it to pull it closed. All and all we are thrilled we ordered this. It is even better looking in person than the pictures on the Amazon website. The personally signed note from Komal with care instructions on the reverse side was the final lovely touch for sure!! Thank you Komal!!! This bag is exactly what my husband and myself were looking for. So happy we found it! P.S. After owning this bag since April 18, today is May 9th and the only leather smell I can detect is when I place my nose right near it. I would buy this bag again and may eventually look for other items sold by Komal that match this. That is how much we love this!!

I bought this bag for my (now) husband, as he had a very worn out similarly styled (but poorly made) work bag that he loved when we got together, but it was well beyond time to retire it. He was very excited about the craftsmanship, the lining, and just how nice the bag looked and felt, the amount of pockets and quality overall. We could both tell this bag would outlast the previous one by years! Unfortunately, our youngest dog, after several months of never once messing with it, decided to chew off part of the front/strap. Unfortunately, we do not currently have the funds to replace the bag, but we will definitely order another of this exact bag when we can. He loved the work bag so much, I ended up buying him one of the duffle and toiletry bags for his birthday since I had planned a vacation for us and he needed real luggage, not a worn out duffle he had been using for decades. I am very sad that our dog decided the leather was too tasty smelling to resist, but considering how hard my husband is on literally everything, and how well it has held up (even after the dog ate part of it!) i can certify it’s a great bag, and will stand up to some real abuse… just not puppy teeth. I will be ordering him a replacement as soon as possible…so he doesn’t have to continue to explain why his nice work bag has a giant chunk missing now….and I will be ensuring we keep it out of paws reach. 🫣

I love this leather briefcase. The leather looks really nice and it feels solid without being too heavy. My 18 inch laptop fits in it with plenty of room and the pockets make it easy to keep things organized. The first time I brought it to a business meeting someone actually came up and asked me where I got it. He said he had ordered one online recently and when it showed up it had this weird pinkish color to it and he was pretty disappointed. Mine looked like a true leather color and way more masculine. I pulled up the listing on my laptop for him so he could see it and he literally leaned over the table and took a picture of my screen so he could order the same one later. And the smell of the leather when you first open the bag is great. You can tell it's real leather and good quality. The stitching looks really solid too. All the pouches and zippers are awesome! Easy to use. I can put my Bible and journal in it as well with room to spare. Overall really happy with it. Looks professional. Smells amazing. Definetly feels like a quality bag I’ll be using for a long time.

I was afraid this bag wasn't going to be big enough for my gaming laptop and my water bottle but there is more than enough room. It smells great and you can tell that it's very sturdy. Its got a good weight to it and has more than enough pockets. I thought I was going to have to return it because I didn't see anywhere that it has a separate compartment for the laptop but it actually does. My water bottle isn't right up against the laptop. Very stylish, goes great with my leather boots. GET IT. You won't be disappointed. Yay! Can't wait for school to start

This bag is wonderful. I've bought two of them. To address the two complaints I see in the reviews: 1) I haven't noticed a smell other than new leather on either bag, so that must be a random quirk to do with shipping or packing. I've had zero issue with either bag. 2) The color is lighter upon receipt of the bag, but that's because the leather darkens to the color shown in the picture with age. Both of mine started darkening within the first month or so. It also softens with age, so the stiffness doesn't stick around. In terms of durability, I used the first bag for over a year and a half, working full time and going to school full time with an hour round trip commute to each, year round. In other words, I never went home. I packed the bag chock full of text books, a laptop and charger, notebooks, a change of clothes and shoes, and school supplies. I also used it as a carry-on multiple times, and packed it to the brim instead of checking a bag (Side note: it's the exact size of the carry-on measuring basket when you board the plane- PERFECT). There were definitely times where this bag carried 50 lbs of books and tech while getting thrown around a grocery store locker room and lugged up and down the university stairwells. After daily use and abuse for over a year and a half, it wasn't until this August that the stitching began to come undone on the top strap and the welding of one of the metal loops connecting the strap to the body of the bag broke open. It was still usable and the damage didn't seem to progress substantially with continued use, so I kept using it every day for a month. I was actually just going to try to find a place to get it fixed, because I love the bag so much, but my better half surprised me with a new one before I had the time to search out a leather repair shop. This new bag is even sturdier than the first, as the place where the stitching had begun to come loose on the shoulder strap has been redesigned, so there is no seam cutting across the strap, and the metal loops connecting the strap to the body are smaller, therefore distributing the weight of the bag's contents more evenly and consistently. I'm keeping the old one, just in case we go on a trip and both need a nice carry-on. I get compliments on this bag every time I start a new class or job, and I don't think I'd be lying if I said "any time I take it anywhere." Men, women, professors, students, landlords, bankers, what-have-you, all love this bag. It's beautiful, and you really can't beat the price. To be honest, I would be willing to spend $200 on this bag. The quality and look are amazing. and the number of pockets, zippers, and dividers make it unbelievably easy to stay organized. None of you know me, but that's really a massive accomplishment when it comes to me, my brain, and my life.

February 1 Updated Review (4 Stars): After my initial experience with this product, I contact the seller to let them know that I had left them a 1-star review. They immediately offered me a full refund; I countered that I would love to give their product another try. They agreed and sent me a new bag via FedEx from India, which was unexpected and appreciated. The bag has a very slight scent, differing from the leather scent on American-made products which I assume is part of a different process for curing the leather. Being sensitized to the smell - and I cannot stress enough that it is extremely faint on replacement bag - I'm going to let it air out for a couple of days before I use it. I have no idea what happened with the first bag, but it is still hanging outside and the scent is still unpleasantly strong. This is definitely NOT the case with the replacement bag. My initial experience seems to be an anomaly. The bag appears to be well-made and I'm excited to use it. Considering that the original bag has now been hanging in the elements for a couple of weeks and is no worse for wear, I can safely assume that the construction is very high quality. Once I've had the opportunity to use the bag, I'll update this review. I would like to take a moment to commend the seller for their exceptional customer service and their willingness to correct this situation. Based on their responsiveness and demonstrated intent to go the extra mile to make this a positive experience, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again. Original Review (1 Star): After much research, I chose to order this bag based on its size, price point, and photographs. I actually looked at some of the reviews on other products offered by Komal's Passion Leather and used that to make my decision. It is a purchase that I strongly regret. The bag was delivered on December `13. When I opened the package, I was overwhelmed by a horrible stench. This was not "new leather" smell; this is "You don't want ANYTHING you own to smell like this." The bag reeked. While I can't identify the smell, the closest comparison that I have is cat urine. The bag smells hideously bad. Along with a bag came a note from Komal Chaudari that reads, in part, "Because of the Sun tanning and oiling, the leather could have a temporary hardness and distinctive leather smell which fades away within weeks." I cannot stress enough that this is NOT a "leather smell." This is a hideous, overwhelming, "Dear God I don't want anything I own to smell remotely like this. If I take this bag anywhere - or people smell this when I enter the room - they'll assume my cats urinated on my clothing." I tried hanging the bag in the bathroom with the fan running to air it out. However the stench is so bad that the smell filled the entire bathroom. I had to remove the bag from the room and leave the fan running to then remove the stench from the bathroom. So I moved the bag to the garage - where it hung from a hook, open to the air on all sides for weeks. And it still stinks too badly too use. For the last week it's been hanging outside under an outdoor walkway that is open to the wind from both sides. It's January and we're getting storms, so the bag is buffeted by strong winds on a regular basis. It still smells so bad that the bag cannot be used. I originally took the bag out of the packaging on December 13. It's now January 21 - so the bag has been airing out for more than a month and is still completely unusable. Once again, I cannot stress enough that this is not a leather smell. I've owned numerous leather products. This is a terrible, unpleasant, hideous stench that weeks of airing out has not removed from the leather. The bag is completely unusable. The vendor should be ashamed that they are willing to sell a product in this condition. At the very least if their production process creates this stench - and I cannot for the life of me understand why anything would smell this hideous - they should air out the bags or do something to reduce the horrible "this is not a leather smell" stench from the product before they ship it. Do not buy this product. My bag has been airing out for almost six full weeks and is still completely unusable.

This is a really nice bag. Like the price too. I got one for work. I wanted something that looked professional and classic for a man. Twice coworkers have complimented the bag out of nowhere saying they like my bag. It can fit a decent amount of stuff too. Zippers are good. I did use an all natural leather conditioner on it to help with keeping the leather from cracking too much at the seams.

First, thank you to Amazon for helping me with this! I hope it's not wrong to say this about another maker but I bought a less expensive bag for around $75 and the first day it split and cracked then the replacement had a pocket with very thin and weak leather that folded when wrapped in plastic. This is the one you need to get! The leather is better, not hard and dry so you can use it right after opening it instead of "breaking it in" and keeping your fingers crossed. Spending another $30-40 makes a HUGE difference and honestly.. it's worth another $50. Inside the bag will work for you no matter what combination of things you have to put in it, I was so happy and relieved opening it knowing the search was over. This is a "luxury bag", you'll like it. (even the packaging is much better)

Excellent item. Very well made and appears to be quite robust although needs purchaser to waterproof. My only low point would be the external pockets aren't quite deep enough for the charger. A stylish and useful item

As my second purchase from the store, my expectations were high due to the quality of the first item. They were met and exceeded. It's a thinner interior than the first one, presumably because the "laptop bag" part of "laptop messenger bag" has more emphasis. That noted, the laptop partition still seems wide enough to fit *two* laptops (or an ancient bulky one), however its length and depth nicely accommodate a 17" laptop - and with enough other (flat) things in the center compartment it's unlikely that bit of wiggle room will matter: it seems sturdier than the last one, i.e. even with the leather aging it should keep its thin shape and solid backing more definitely than the previous one I had.

Bonjour, Je viens tout juste de recevoir ce cartable. Premières impressions : Superbe qualité, du cuir véritable justement d'une qualité très elvée. Le cartable est très bien soignée, et livré dans un sac en tissu qui est en soi très classe. Les boucles sont bien couvertes et enveloppées. L'intérieur est bien fait, et le plus important c'est la bandoulière qui a l'air très durable et confortable. Mon ordinateur de 17 pouces rentre très facilement dans le cartable, ce qui est le plus important pour moi. Je trouve que le sac, selon sa qualité actuelle, vaut beaucoup plus que son prix. Je le recommande et je compte chercher dans leur boutique pour des sacs de voyages. J'espère que vous garderez cette qualité des produits dans le fûtur. Merci
