Great deal for the money. Mine came with a calibration certificate. If you have any experience at all with a builders level you will find the set up to be not difficult at all. If you haven't set up an optical level before I'd recommend setting up your tripod and getting the platform level with a bullet level and then locking your optical level on. You will save yourself a lot of time and aggravation. I had my bubble centered in three minutes doing it this way. My eyesight is terrible and I would say the optics on this are excellent. To get a quality brand optical level with a tripod and stick is a great deal for this price.

Fantastic! Works great. Packaged and shipped professionally. The Level, the tripod, and the Rod, all operate easily. The case for the level is awesome. The base of the tripod actually has rubber boots over top of the sharp spikes. I didn't realize the rubber covers were meant to come off at first because they are slightly pointed. It appeared that they were the actual spikes, but remove the rubber covers to reveal the very sharp spikes for ensuring the tripod does not slip on soft surfaces like soil or sod. The rubber boots are awesome for harder surfaces such as rock, concrete or tile. It took a little getting used to how to ensure the level is actually level, but some spins on the three adjustment knobs centers up the bubble and it is then level. Sighting through the scope was not simple to figure out... the knob on the right-hand side of the level controls the zoom of the telescope and the lens knob around the viewfinder then provides the fine focus. If you must get the zoom focus correct first and then adjust the fine focus. It was difficult to keep remembering that the rise and fall of the slope being measured is inversely related to the feet and inches shown on the rod. Overall this set is awesome. Once you get used to how to adjust everything, it is really awesome!!!

Very nice kit. Comes with everything needed to survey. I would have given 5 stars BUT the rod comes in 1/16th units. This is not clear on the listing. Or give you an option to pick the right grade rod. We had to convert all measurements from 1/16 fraction to decimal 1/10. This may seem simple math, but more room for error in the field and not necessary. I needed 1/10 units to measure in decimal on the grade rod. I have since bought a 1/10 rod (Decimal). With the new decimal rod, we are cruising. Tripod is nice and sturdy, but does not have a level. It would be nice to have a small level or include in the kit. Cross hairs are visible and easy to read. Overall very nice for the money.

Unit was straight forward to set up and use. Accuracy is great but always could be better. Optics are clear with fine crosshairs. Some don't like the fine cross hairs but I use this unit to set up automation equipment and love the fine cross hairs. Optical level is packaged well in its box. I would love a protective box to hold the level ( in its case ) tri pod, and grade stick all together in one clean safe box for transportation.

set it up to test to see if it works. the arena was out a quarter inch from one side to another. seems the level is right. the arena seems to have sunk on one side. very happy with the product. will level my land and build my home now

Missing accessories. Only box delivered No tripod no staff. No autolevel Now the return delivery guy refused to accept return as it doesn't match description. No tripod nor staff.

Great level for installation of drainage and driveway slopes, very accurate and easy to use besides weather proof.
