Great shark book for kids
I read this book to my son 30+ years ago and just got it for my grandson. It's fun and educational. It has been updated over the years and is one they can use to start reading,

Kid approves
My 8 year reads it by himself over and over. He even took it to school to show it off. It is not scary like other reviews state. It is full of facts. If your child likes nonfiction over fiction then this is a good book. I prefer to have a book with real pictures but the book is not for me and my child doesn't care about the pictures.

I think this is her favorite by far because she loves to study sharks ever ...
I bought this for my daughter to read. She has several of these reader books and enjoys them. I think this is her favorite by far because she loves to study sharks ever since there were two local shark attacks this past summer. Most of her other readers are fiction. She enjoyed learning more about sharks and I like the fact she is getting practice reading. It has great pictures and lots of info. We both enjoyed it and will continue to read it!!!

Great story and fun read
A great easy reader for a young reader. Read a few pages a day in the beginning but soon it was quickly finished without stopping. Good facts about Sharks and great for emerging readers.

perfect choice for elementary school reading
I love these series. But most important that my son does. I order 20+ books and he loves to read them (usually it is not that easy to make him read). I got mix of 2-3-4 levels for the second grader, second level is too easy, but it creates some fun and he reads them with pleasure. Love it, I would recommend it.

Sharks!!
Hungry, Hungry Sharks (Step-Into-Reading, Step 3)This book is a little bit dated and doesn't include new information learned about sharks. It says they can't stop swimming or they will sink. I think this has been dis-proven. It also doesn't address the problem of sharks being killed for their fin or because people don't like them and how they are becoming endangered. None of that info is in the book. In fact is says they have been here since dinosaur time and they will always be here. But other than that it does have enough info for my 4 year old who loves to learn about animals. It has drawings instead of photos. It shows different types of sharks. The book touches on the subject of sharks attacking people without being gory. This book says all kinds of non food has been found inside sharks. Actual items found are MINK coat, treasure chest of jewels, suit of armor, barrel of nails. This is our favorite part.
