My Very First Book of Colors

With my little granddaughter being raised in the new "modern farmhouse" type decor of grey and white, this artist grandmother wanted to be sure that she could spend some time learning her colors. She seems to ADORE color, actually, and I hope this little book delights her as she grows up (she's only 18mos old now). I so appreciate anyone putting this kind of book together for children!

The book makes the child think. Flipping through the pages, using their memory, recognizing colors & associating things to colors: snow is white, trees/grass is green.

I've bought this book twice over the last decade, one for each child and they both have loved it. It's a nice teaching tool for colors and is simple for the little ones to flip through and explore. Its a board book so its reasonably sturdy for most kids, but keep an eye since it can still be ripped apart.

I didn't realize these were flip and match books....SOOOOOO COOL! They're a little above my 1 yr olds head right now but he likes flipping through them and looking at the vibrant colors. So nice to have books he can enjoy now and later. Good buy!

This book is cute and has a good variety of colors. The top of the page and the bottom of the page are cut in half so you can flip through the bottom without moving the top of the book. I thought the book would have items of each color per page. However it has a color block on the top and the bottom of the page has pictures in different colors to match the top. It is more of a color matching book. I got it to read to my 2 month old. I still love it but it’ll be a better book for a 1 or 2 year old who can interact with it.

This is my go to book to teach my 1-year old her colors. It is interactive in that she loves to flip through the book and point out the colors. I enjoy the simplicity of the illustrations as well. The book is small enough to take it with you everywhere you go. My toddler lights up whenever I open the book up.

I love Eric Carle books. The book is well made, has bright colors and a favorite book for my grandchildren.

I know I just received this book for my child but it is so wonderful. I love all Eric Carle's books and I was read them to me when I was a child so I decided to buy one for my 15 month old. She loves it and it has flip pages to match colors with objects. I just bought some more Eric Carle books.

petit livre très mignon, au gout de ma fille de 18 mois. Le livre est très sympa à manipuler. La taille du livre est parfait pour un enfant de bas âge, et la qualité du livre est très bien, les images sont colorés, très jolies. Je recommande !

It's a very intuitive, innovative and smartly thought over book to educate young brains about the concept of colours. Each page is divided into separable top and bottom part. The top parts have only coloured pages, while the bottom parts have coloured objects. Me and my toddler love to flip through the pages together and each time the color on the top part matches with the color of the object in bottom part, we give each other a Hi-5 and then our quest continues as we try to find a matching green, red, blue, black, brown, white, pink, purple and yellow object. I got this book when my toddler was about 18 months. He is now about 30 months and love to turn the pages and match the colors all by himself.
