The ideal practice/late night noodling amp
i’m a long time hobbyist guitar player of several decades and I have several nice larger combo amps. I was specifically looking for something that was simple, didn’t have a bunch of presets, app connectivity or other gimmicks on it, something that was just immediate, small, quiet and still sounded halfway decent. Figured I’d give this thing a shot. For the price, you can’t really go wrong even if it’s just OK. Well, it’s better than OK. It sounds surprisingly good and it’s really fun to play! I like that you aren’t overwhelmed with choices. You get gain, volume, EQ and a limited but useful little delay effect to give you Some ambience. All three channels sound great no matter how you set the gain or EQ on the amp. It’s like they really confined the ranges of the controls to keep the thing sounding good. I’m especially surprised at how smooth the distortion is. On old cheap solid state amps of this size, you would usually get a bone-dry clean sound or this really awful, staticky distortion, and nothing in between. The distortion on this actually sounds pleasing and smooth, and it doesn’t do that flubby farty thing when you crank it up like some amp distortion does. Overall, great little amp for late night noodling, taking over to a buddy’s house for a jam without having to lug the larger amp or just having a quick and immediate way to practice without firing up your larger rig. Highly recommend

Great Little Amp
Boss can thank Ola Englund for why I purchased this great sounding little amp. Ola Englund is a guitar player and works for a guitar manufacturer in Europe. He has his own YouTube channel with a series called "Will It Chug". Ola did a nice video on this product, and Ola is the reason why I decided on getting this little amp. I'm not trying to plug Ola. This is a material fact statement, I bought this product because of Ola. This little solid state amp sounds great for it's size. it's so loud, I never cranked it up. The built in distortion is OK, but it sounds great with my BOSS Metal Zone pedal. I love the digital delay sound on it. The amp does have a slight tinny sound to it, but it still chugs. Only it doesn't chug with the beefiness in Ola's video because he has expensive recording microphones recording the sound. However, with the proper settings, and additional distortion pedal support, it's a great little portable practice amp. It sounds great with my Boss Metal Zone distortion pedal. It's great that you can put batteries in it. But I don't like using batteries because when they start to go bad, they usually slowly negatively impact your sound without you realizing it. I bought the extra power supply cable and love it. (Boss PSA-120S Power Adapter) I make home recordings with a Zoom hand held, open room recording device, with this amp, and the recordings come out great. If you're looking for a great sounding, inexpensive practice amp to travel with, or practice with at home, I highly recommend this little guy. I've been using it regularly for the past 6 months and am a satisfied customer. Thank you BOSS for this fine product, and thank you Ola for helping me decide on this!! Cheers!!

Excellent Little Portable Amp With Lots Of Uses.
I had been looking at various battery powered amps for a while trying to decide which to get. Since I already have two full size BOSS Katana amps I almost went a different direction but now I'm glad I went with the Katana Mini. For starters it's super lightweight. It's perfect if you want to practice around the house but also to grab and go for singalongs while camping or at BBQs or family gatherings etc. It's also the perfect amp to keep on your bench if you work on guitars like I do. The sound quality lives up to the BOSS Katana name. You get a choice of 3 different amp types for everything from pristine cleans to heavy distortion. While the amp has built in delay with level and time controls I would have preferred Reverb with a couple of different options for type. But that's just me, and the delay the amp provides is excellent. Battery life seems to rip out around 7 hours give or take. I would suggest you get rechargeable batteries and if you use rechargeables rated at 2500 or greater mAh you will get closer to 9 hours on a single charge. Some people have complained that they can hear a low hum or buzz when running on battery. I have not had this experience but YMMV. There is also an input for use with an AC adapter. This, in my personal experience is where some problems come in with noise. Using a third party adapter that was recommended with this amp caused a serious amount of hum both with and without batteries installed. Buying the BOSS PSB-120 at $30 improved things, but there is still some noticable hum even with a guitar with humbucking pickups. That small issue aside, it is a very lightweight grab and go amp with great sound and lots of possible uses. Pro tip: I also have the BOSS Katana GO. I bought a 3.5mm TRS male to 1/4 in. TS male adapter cable here on Amazon and plugged the output of the Katana GO into the input of the Katana Mini. Now I have a full powered Katana amp with all the effects and sound editing possibilities that I can throw in a backpack and take with me anywhere!!!

A good amp but not a great one.
The Boss Katana mini has been my main amp for playing in my home for quite a while now. The amp provides good sound quality especially for the size and price. The amp is extremely easy to use and understand but that comes at a lack of features unfortunately. Its compact size and solid construction does make it easy to stow away or keep on a shelf. Overall the Katana mini provides a good value but leaves some things to be desired.

The perfect individual practice amp
This amp is literally perfect for someone who wants to practice in a home without disturbing other people in the home. I had been using my main amp with headphones - but began to worry about my hearing, as I tended to listen too loudly. This began my quest for the perfect practice amp... after trying about 5 others, I finally found this jewel. Here’s why I love it: 1. It’s the perfect size and weight. It’s small enough that you can set it pretty much anywhere (your desk, coffee table, on the couch beside you, etc). But it’s heavy and big enough that it does not tip over and it feels like a “real” amp. Although it is quite small. 2. It has the perfect amount of tone control for a practice amp. Gain and master volume with Clean, crunch, and brown settings and with bass, mids, and treble controls. Add to that the delay settings and it’s perfect. Not too many things to waist your time fiddling with - but just enough so you can quickly dial in a perfect and great tone for whatever you are trying to play. 3. It has the perfect volume. Many of the small practice amps still need to be pretty loud to sound good. This little guy sounds awesome at low volume. I can sit in my office (a bed room) And jam heavy tones headphone free, and no one in the house can hear me! 4. It works great with batteries and that makes it very portable. 5. You can use a power supply (not included) when convenient to save battery money. Now for a couple of things to be aware of: 1. It does not come with a power supply, you’ll have to buy one separately (9v 500ma aka .5a with a negative center). I found one on Amazon for 12 bucks. 2. It does come with a set of AA batteries, and I used it all day with just the batteries and they still seam fine. I’m not sure yet how many days they’ll last though... 3. This amp probably could not be used for a full band practice IMO. The sound is just not big enough for that. It if your looking for the perfect individual practice amp at a great price... look no further. This thing is awesome.

Best amp I have seen so far
Bets amp IVE used. Multiple option for gain type. And wall or battery power. Packs a punch, despite its size being about 2 or 3 inches tall. Gain is amazing. Best amp every with electric. Very durable and give you the best without breaking the bank. Sounds very clear with little distortion, despite the gain, and looks sleek in any environment. Easy controls, durable, good value for the price, looks good, sounds good, and is the best

Huge sound for a portable battery-powered amp
I've had this thing for a little while now, along with its bigger brother (50W Katana mkii). The sound quality coming out of this Mini is excellent, it actually competes quite well against its bigger brother. They don't sound exactly the same, but they are very similar. All three of the sound channels on the Mini work really well, and the Brown channel can crank the gain up high enough to work great as a practice amp for leads. The Mini doesn't have a ton of effects, but it has what it needs to be useful as a quick portable amp. You get your normal gain and volume knobs, three band EQ, and a delay that you can tweak to get a makeshift reverb effect if you want (by turning the time dials all the way down). It also gets pretty loud when you want it to. Definitely loud enough for a campfire gig or to take it outdoors for fun, and the batteries last a while if you keep it at living room volumes. I've owned the Blackstar Fly 3 as well, and after having the Katana Mini, it's more or less replaced my Blackstar. The Katana Mini can do pretty much everything that the Blackstar can, but it works much better at higher gain stuff (something that the Blackstar couldn't really do). If you want versatility, the Katana Mini is the one to get.

A real guitar amp smaller than a shoebox.
The Katana mini is an actual analog guitar amp with a preamp stage and amplifier stage. Not amp modeling software ran through a digital alarm clock bluetooth speaker type device, like the nux mighty light bt. I really like the versatility and features of the nux mighty light, but it cannot compare to the feel, thick tones and overall sound quality of the katana mini; and the actual sound is whats important here, right? The katana mini is very straightforward and simple. You have 3 channels, 3 eq, and a basic digital delay (and a reverb type effect with delay time set at 0) Where this thing shines is it's brown channel and clean channel. The crunch channel leaves much to be desired in my opinion. It's just light overdrive and lacks sizzle. The clean channel is absolute crystal clear sqeaky clean. Beautiful. Now, the brown channel is very un-clean. Its freaking fantastic. It has that saturated classic metal sound. It makes leads sing and palm mutes growl and chug. It makes me very happy :) Doesnt sound great through headphones though. But the amp does goes very quiet. You will want a quality power supply or a lot of batteries for this unit as the cheap lightweight psu's will introduce hiss on the high gain settings. The boss brand psu should be ok. My "onespot" psu was not clean enough and it made hiss. Oddly enough, the psu that came with my nux mighty light is very quiet on the Katana. Multi effects units sound great through the clean channel with gain set at about 10:00 or 11. I definitely recommend this to new guitarists or any player looking for a small (cheap) portable amp to play on the couch or backyard or whatever. People that bought this expecting it to soung like a $5000 cranked tube head are delusional. For $100, it's not professional level amplification, but it's not a disposable toy either... Just buy one and have fun!

positivamente sorpreso!
Arriva un piccolo cartone.8 batterie incluse. Amp leggerissimo, aspetto solido e professionale. Non mi aspetto molto: invece la sorpresa: oltre ogni aspettativa, suono pulito e per avere 1 Watt incredibilmente forte, senza mai distorgere. É piccolo, bello, efficace! Consiglio ad ognuno!!

Fantastiskt ljud i litet format
Utmärkt tränings-förstärkare. Mycket fint rent ljud men bra overdrive om det är det du är ute efter. Plus för inbyggt eko.

Great little (also) battery powered practice amp
This little dude is like: "look, my big brothers are fantastic, and I want to bring no shame on them". I am keeping it on my desk. Small enough to fit in the corner. Loud. Accurate. Katana technology in mini format. You don't have effect loop, you don't have external speaker output. Obviously. But you have great sounding (also battery powered) mini guitar combo for your "I have the mood to play in the garden" moments. And any other moments, when you need small, but seriously sounding practice amp. Three channels: Clean, Crunch and Brown. Build in delay. Headphone output and Aux-in, so you may connect your any source of backing track music and play. Even at night. At hotel. Before your gig. Yes, 12-inch Celestion speaker in Marshall or something like that combo will sound a bit better. But it cost 5, 10 or 15 times more, it's big and weights 20 times more. And you cannot pack 12 inch speaker equipped combo in your backpack and go for a picnic (food shall fit in this backpack also). But Boss Katana Mini you can :-) Beside the great sound Boss Katana Mini build quality is also very good. Doesn't feel like cheap toy. So, if you need tiny warming up combo, or tiny practicing combo for home or night bedroom situation - go for it. You won't be disappointed.
