Great
I used it as a deterrent to cats scratching. It scared the cats, but didn't stop their scratching. I failed, but the horn works great. It's very LOUD. Just the way you want it.

Great Dog Trainer and Protector
Update: I just had to use it to protect my new 4 month old schnauzer from a red tailed hawk. Original review: I have a sweet, but stubborn miniature schnauzer that was eating things (such as rocks and sticks) in the yard she shouldn't. I was terrified she would end up with a blockage. This quickly taught her the command "drop it". It is loud, so only use outside. As a protectant, I carry it in my pocket in case of hawks and coyotes.

Keeps me and my dog safe from strays & coyotes
I got these as a dog deterrent for when I walk my dog. It is very loud and a higher pitch. On one the top broke off at the stem so not fixable. I haven't counted;but, I estimate they are good for 15 - 20 med. blasts of air. The can gets cold just like when you use any can of air. Overall, I think it is worth the price. I was visiting my sister in the country and there was a coyote in the very small draw near the main road near where I was walking my old dog. Despite walking my dog as quick as she could go (not very quick, more like a normal slow walk for most); by it sound I could tell it was gaining on us. It was probably just heading up to a ponding of water; but, a couple of toots on the horn quieted it. I felt safer. There had been coyotes a little to close to where the ranch animals were imo; so, I went out that night and drove along the draw and blasted that horn maybe 10 times down a ways and back. No coyotes were heard the next couple of weeks, he,he. Most recently back home where we have coyotes around; I was walking my dog and down the road was a loan and large coyote. (not a wolf I know the diff). It was a couple of miles down the road. I motioned to an suv headed that way to watch out. It did. it honked at the coyote which then quickly moved across the road. Come to think of it, it had turned in towards the vehicle first. I figured it had headed back into the brush for good (like one would expect); but, no. It came right back out onto the road, looked down our way and spotted us. Then it started heading toward us at a pretty quick walk/trot. Well, now I turn and am walking my dog as quickly as I can (not to be mistaken for running, still a fairly slow walk). Within minutes the coyote was half way to us. I blew the horn and he turned off down the dirt road he was at. Maybe that did it? Still heading home as quick as poss., my dog fell down on her rear which means she can't get up for at least a full minute, (even though I walk her aiding her with a sling when she pees or looses balance due to hip displaysia). Well the coyote caught up to us and was directly across the small two lane road we were on. I had been keeping an eye open and spotted it right away. Then, it started across the road to us! It wasn't crouched in some sort of attack form. Maybe friendly?? I blew the horn several times and it turned around and took off (but still not super freaked out). We were closer to home at that point and made it home safely. I was glad the top hadn't broken off this second one at that time! I wonder if someone had been feeding this coyote or perhaps it had some dog in it and was a pet. It looked and moved like a coyote; but, it seemed overly confident for a loner. Looked very healthy too. There was an aggressive barking dog near where we turn off to home. About 3/4 down our dirt road I heard him barking. Next day lots of scratch marks in the dirt across the road from that dogs area. I also have some mace/pepper spray; but, that can be dangerous. What if it just angers whatever & Of course not to be used once a fight ensued just intensifying the fight. A horn is the first and I think best line of defense.

Perfect for what I bought them for
I live on 30 acres out in the sticks. We have no trespassing/Hunting/Fishing signs up (yes, we live on the water). Because noise carries across water we frequently hear rifles being shot off early in the morning or late at night, and every so often we get those poor hunting beagles that come on our property looking for deer, but frightening our cats and our resident foxes that keep the squirrels from getting our fruit and veggies we grow. So when the shooting gets annoying or when the beagles come around, I usually pull one of these out and blast it a few times and the noise usually stops pretty quickly. I hate "sports" hunters and we get our meats from the supermarket and thankfully don't have to hunt for it. If we did, I think I'd become a vegetarian and just eat nothing but fish (which we can get off the water behind our home), but don't bother with since there are plenty of those who run seafood markets around here in the country. So I got them to annoy the hunters shooting their guns and allowing their poorly fed beagles rather than as party favors.

Short-term use only.
Yes, these are loud... for a few seconds. For my uses, I need to blow a horn several times in a row, but this runs out of 'air' right away as if it needs to 'catch its breath' after I use it! Weird, right? Because once I let it sit for a bit it will blow loud again... for a few seconds! So, I ordered another, bigger air horn from a different manufacturer and set it with these two cans by the door. When I need to blow one, I grab one in each hand! I blow one, then I blow the second, and then the third. If the problem doesn't stop, I repeat. So far, they've worked each time I've needed them (about 3 times, now); its just they won't keep blowing in one session. If you need to have a longer use in one session, I suggest purchasing a different size. Since I'm not too experienced with these, yet, I can't say if its the brand or not. Maybe its the nature of a 'horn from a can'?

Was looking for something to help with stubborn dog barking (we have 4 of them)
We have a couple of dogs who aren't big barkers until something sets them off, but once they start, they more or less refuse to follow commands to stop the barking (and they darn well know we are trying to get them to stop!). I wanted something that would drive the point home that we are serious without having a shock collar. These worked! Just the SHORTEST POSSIBLE blast 100% stops barking instantly and they are hesitant to bark again for a couple of days. After some months of diligent use of the horns (we bought 4 very small ones), the barking issues got farther and farther apart to the point we only need a warning blast once in a great while. We have used very little propellant for this since the blasts are so short. The dogs know they can bark a little bit... we're not militaristic dog trainers, and they also know that once we say "no bark", we are darn serious. Very satisfying after being ignored for years!
