I’m a waitress and my lips are often glowing red and incredibly painful after my shift. I also live in Minnesota, and our winters aren’t very gentle on the skin. I really didn’t know anything about this lip balm when I ordered it, except that it’s probably the very last product in the universe for dry painful lips that I’ve never tried. I routinely use aquaphor and I love it, but it doesn’t help once my lips are painful and inflamed. It also doesn’t help me during my shift even when applied before I walk into the bar. I also routinely use Tatcha lip mask, again, I love it, but it doesn’t help once my lips are painful and inflamed (although it does feel nice if you put it in the fridge before applying it!). I was at a loss… all my amazing products were only amazing in keeping my lips hydrated and soft - not in helping me get back to hydrated and soft. It was like putting on a bandaid, and I know y’all know what I’m talking about. So, I tried the cortibalm. I’m not kidding, within about 12 hours my lips felt amazing. I used it for about 2 days before switching back to the Aquaphor and you’d have never known my lips were bothering me. Ive had it for about a month now and after the initial 2 days of use, I now use it once before my shift and I’ve managed to avoid the extreme irritation that inevitably comes by the time my shift is done. It’s pure magic. Now, keep in mind this isn’t a sexy product. It doesn’t smell like coconuts or vacation, and it’s not a lip gloss. It’s literally a lip saver. This is the product you want when you’re trying to repair the skin barrier on your lips but not when you’re heading out on a date and need to add a little sheen. This is very hydrating, soothing, and fast acting. It does not have a scent (which I love) and it applies easily (it’s not dry or chunky on application) and you can feel the relief in no time. It does have hydrocortisone in it so I probably wouldn’t use it as my go-to around the clock every day, but using it before being outside in winter or before an activity (or waitressing shift) that you know dries your lips out is perfect. At this point, I don’t even need to reapply it - I just need to apply it once and it mitigates the damaged skin barrier. I can promise you, I will never ever be without this again. It’s just silly it took me so long to find this. I’ve already ordered the 3 pack since making this purchase.

Best hydrocortisone lip balm I’ve ever tried! Doesn’t taste medicinal at all; it has a very subtle honey sweet scent/taste but it’s very mild and doesn’t linger. I get a lot of cracked red mouth corners, especially in dry weather or with a lot of sun/heat and this does an amazing job of treating that. Within a day of using it the redness was really reduced and the dryness was gone. Within another day or two the redness was totally gone and back to normal. It also really helps hydrate lips and heals up cracking/dryness in no time. Highly recommend! A little goes a long way so it’ll last too. Especially since the hydration lasts a long long time so I’m not constantly reapplying!

I’m not sure what sorcery this is. I don’t know what is in this stuff that makes it better than anything else out there, including prescription. I have never suffered with lip flares of any kind before this episode. I have been struggling with it for a month now and have tried just about everything else to no avail. Not sure why this is such a well kept secret. I’ve never heard of it, and even after many exhaustive searches, this was kind of hidden in the search results. You’d think something this good would be well known and be a first line hit. I guess I don’t know very much, but I do know one thing - IT WORKS AND WORKS FAST. My lips weren’t cracked, but they had a hard shiny shell that no moisture could penetrate. Beyond the lip line, there was an itchy, scaly red rash that burned and seemed worse at the end of the day. The corners were crusty but no evident blisters. I was losing my ish over this. My doctor prescribed cortisone jelly and it did nothing. Thankfully, I found Dr. Dan’s. I waited by the door for Amazon to show up. When they finally delivered, I couldn’t get to it fast enough. Within 30 minutes of applying it for the first time, I am feeling massive relief already. My lips feel soft like that hard shell has dissolved. The flakiness is no where to be found and the stinging, itching, tingling, burning sensation has calmed the eff down. I have high hopes for continued relief, but even just this much was worth the price and the wait. I am a new Dr.Dan Fan.

We purchased this for our daughter, who is currently on Accutane, and the dryness has been intense, especially on her lips. They were constantly dry, cracked, and uncomfortable, no matter what we tried. This balm made a noticeable difference very quickly. It provided immediate relief and has helped tremendously with healing and preventing further cracking. Her lips look and feel much better, and she’s finally comfortable again. It’s not overly thick or greasy, but it still offers serious hydration and protection. You can tell it’s formulated for more than just everyday dryness; it actually works on severely chapped lips. A little goes a long way, and it’s now something we keep on hand at all times. Highly recommend, especially for anyone dealing with extreme dryness from medications like Accutane. My daughter will be so mad that I posted these pictures, but I feel it's relevant for you to see the difference.

This lip balm contains petroleum jelly, beeswax, and mineral oil, but unlike traditional petroleum jelly, it does not have that sticky or heavy feel. It goes on very smoothly and coats the lips evenly, which I really appreciated. It does contain hydrocortisone, though I honestly cannot say that I noticed a specific effect from that ingredient. That said, it did help improve my severely chapped lips and did not cause any additional peeling or sloughing, which is something I am always cautious about. My only real complaint is the smell, or lack of a pleasant one. I cannot quite pinpoint it, but it has a slightly medicinal scent mixed with the natural smell of beeswax. There are no added fragrances, which may be a plus for some people. I only notice the smell when applying it directly from the stick, and I cannot smell it once it is on my lips.

When I moved to the desert Southwest from the humid Southeast, I was horrified that no matter HOW hydrated I was, or how great my humidifier was, my lips were dry and cracking. So over the course of a couple of years, I probably bought/used 25-30 lip balm type products in an effort to find one that would fix it without side effects like irritation or breakouts. It wasn’t until I moved away that I discovered this, but I wish I’d had it back then! It is so nice, so hydrating, so healing. It’s the best ever, and I have a HUGE sample size. I went back to vegas for a couple of months last year and that summer heat and aridity was no match for Dr. Dan’s. I also like to use it on my cuticles and it’s better than any of my cuticle oils. Big fan!

Ok let me start by saying this stuff saved my lips. I had a very stressful season of life back in October with a career change. I think the stress caused a weird immune response which made my lips flare up with this strange bumpy red and raw dermatitis issue. It would come and go every few days and I could NOT figure it out. I tried everything. In January I ordered this lip balm to see if that helped. It cleared it up within 3 days. It’s now May and I’ve rarely had issues but if I have a stressful event that triggers the flare to start up I just use this lip balm 2x a day and it’s gone within 24-48 hours. I should prob still go to a dermatologist to get an official diagnosis, but so far this has saved me a very expensive visit.

I have repurchased this so many times.. I have one in every room in my house! I used a lip stain that ruined my lips.. I had pencil eraser-sized pieces of skin peeling off my lips and tried EVERYTHING for a month to repair them. It was awful and so painful! Within one night, this made my lips almost completely back to normal. I load my lips up at night with it and by morning, they are soft and hydrated. This saved my life (not to be dramatic but it is the best lip product I’ve ever found).

The best lip balm ever. Period. I'm on accutane 20mg (daily) for the last few months and in general have always had very dry lips cuz I'm always licking them making it worse. Ive tried all best ones in the market- sisley, clea de peau, rms, by terry, la roche posay, burt bees, jack black, blistex etc you name it and I must have tried it. However, this one is the best of them all. It really helps with chapped peeling lips. I normally use this and then use my other lips balms all through the day. The only negative is the taste/smell. I don't like that one bit but it's a tiny price to pay for healthy lips.

This is the ultimate solution for anyone who couldn't find a cure for their cracked lips which just wouldn't heal no matter what you did. I even visited dermatologists whose recommendations didn't work for me. The price is totally worth for me because I was at the verge of giving up because nothing else worked for me.
