A funny retelling of the tallest of tall tales, the rollicking adventures of Paul Bunyan and his great blue ox, paired with the extravagant and lively illustrations of Steven Kellogg. Perfect for read-alouds full of laughter! Do you know who was the largest baby ever born in the state of Maine? What about who dug the Great Lakes? Or who gouged out the Grand Canyon? Why, it was Paul Bunyan, of course, America's finest, fastest, funniest lumberman and favorite folktale hero! In this engaging tale, beloved children's author Steven Kellogg combines exuberant illustrations with a hysterical text to create a truly legendary tale. This is a fun tall tale to share at home or in the classroom. Review: Wonderful illustrations and fun story - This is an excellent book that our child really enjoys. The illustrations are fantastic, and the story is funny and memorable. Review: Great quality! - I was so excited to see this version of Paul Bunyan available! As it was a childhood favorite in our house growing up. The tales of Paul Bunyan alone are enough to keep you captivated but the illustrator does not disappoint with fine attention to detail that keeps your eyes constantly exploring the page. Lastly the seller got this book to me very quickly and it was in fantastic condition! I would purchase from them again. ๐

stunning!
the art in this book is just stunning, I'm a little sad I didn't get this in hardcover! the paperback edition is large and the print quality is perfect. I would say the storytelling is a little dry and weak on themes and development but the art just makes this book. perfect.

Delightful book for all ages
The beautiful illustrations and engaging story makes this version of Paul Bunyan the perfect book for beginner readers and preschoolers. Older people enjoy finding new things in the complex drawings.

Great Story - Even for very young children
My grandson has been asking about this story ever since the first time I read it to him. He's only 3 years old, but he loves the story. The first book that I read from was a library book. So, now he has his own book to be read from anytime he wants to hear the story again.

True Kellogg style!
You'll need to like Steven Kellogg's illustrations to buy this version of Paul Bunyan--because the actual writing is minimal. It includes 'tall tales' about Bunyan I have never heard. The book is a good quality paperback.

I'm delighted with the book for the telling of the story ...
We took the grandkids to Oregon in June and visited the Paul Bunyan Trees of Mystery. Then we ordered this book to help educate them on who Paul was. I'm delighted with the book for the telling of the story and the illustrations. The 6 year old will now use the information from it to write a young author book for school.

Great Book!
I bought this book for my 4 year old grandson for Christmas. I used these books when I taught tall tales in Junior High. They are all great books. I am sure he will enjoy them. He is currently very interested in Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, and John Henry.,
