Great product for the kitchen.
Great product, pretty easy to fit especially with the base plate included, had to purchase separately for the fire alarm, but to be fair is cheaper.

Works but included batteries are dead
Works as designed. Batteries included are completely dead on arrival. Your sensor will beep because the batteries are dead. Best to buy new quality batteries and do a test before connecting, the alarm should sound loud as if it is connected to power. Ordered both smoke and heat alarms, batteries dead in both.

Easy to install compact unit. You will need space in the ceiling above for connections or you will also need to buy the separate wiring base that is available.

Case fell apart when I tried to change the battery
When the battery runs low there is a loud beep about every 5 minutes, making it impossible to sleep until the battery has been changed. When I tried to open the alarm to change the battery the front face of the alarm separated from the main body breaking the electrical connections with the sensor meaning the alarm needs to be replaced.
