The battery is very hot when charging on the base. I don't think it is normal. I ordered 850 mah but I received 900 mah

The 850 to 900 shouldn,t matter you could try using another charge base possibly it's putting to much voltage or see if the problem goes away by switching battery's to a different phone good luck.
